Fear of missing premiership convinced Hindy to stay

Nathan Hindmarsh had a get-out clause in his contract that would have enabled him to finish his career in England, the Eels backrower has told Rugby League Week. However, he revealed that his fear of Parramatta winning the premiership without him was a major motivating factor in him staying and eventually extending his contract."I had the opportunity to go next year in my contract," Hindmarsh said. "I spoke to a couple of clubs over in England but then decided, 'Well I'm just going to enjoy the rest of my years'. And I was also worried about, 'If I leave, what happens if they win a grand final'. That was probably my biggest fear'.In a two-page profile piece, RLW said he wanted to remain an Eels beyond his playing days as well."I'd like to remain at the club somewhere in a coaching role or somewhere."

  • Add him to a list of legends that should be encouraged to be involved with the club for life.
    • I totally agree, he is a dead set legend.
  • There is a lot of loyalty for the club in the squad, which is why it will be a pity if Burt leaves as has been suggested a few times on this site
  • What a champion. Let's hope this attitude rubs off on Mr Hayne.
  • on ya hindy u BLOODY LEGEND
  • If ever there was a man who deserved a premiereship, its Nathan Hindmarsh.
  • to me nathan you are parramatta eels mate you are by far the best eel player ever
  • Just like Pricey!!!
Our club bursts with loyalty and pride!!!
  • Yup deadset legend.
I can`t help but think why has he been snubbed for rep duties. Its the greatest crime since the great train robbery.Reminds me of when Dean Jones got the Axe from playing cricket for Australia.
In the top Squad one day not even a mention the next.
    Hindy for prime minister
    • Yup spot on my friend.
Every time there`s a chip or grubber or drop ball 9/10 hindy`s there no doubt. This is the type of player you`d expect to be first choice for origin.I`ve been annoyed at seein a bloke like Weyman (has played ok this season) and Luke Baily who i reckon is a deadset Neville play origin is rubbish.
Why not have Hindy, can play the full 80min unlike those other spastics. If the Eels go right through to the GF he should atleast get a test recall.
As for Bellamy deadset retard just like when he played for Canberra.

Slippery. replied to Cumberland Eel's discussion Will NRL let Panthers Win?

I have been watching Rugby League for 40 years, and your theory has me confused.  Please explain to me why the NRL would want the Panthers off the bottom of the ladder? Also,  why would the NRL choose to give a leg up to the Sharks over the Eels?…"
