I don’t expect us to win every week.
But I do expect us to compete every week.
Somehow, as Eels fans, we’ve been conditioned to lower the bar.
To accept losses. To become numb to them.
We talk ourselves into it every season.
“Injuries.” “They’re trying.”“There’s a plan.”
Same lines. Different year.
At some point, you stop being frustrated and just feel… flat.
Because it’s not just that we’re losing.
It’s how we’re losing.
Other teams rebuild and improve.
We find new ways to go backwards.
I’m not asking for dominance. I’m asking for effort.
For fight.
For a team that actually looks like it gives a shit for 80 minutes.
Effort shouldn't be optional.
We can handle losing.
We just can’t handle not competing.
Stop telling us there’s a plan.
Show us something worth believing in.

Good point my friend.
Great blog and 100% correct. I think we don't buy enough Blue collar players. That roll up their sleeves and get on with it. Like bulldog reject moran today. Was in everything. We need players like this.
Thats true, we have to many take a selfie players. But thats what parra is, we are supposed to be like the Broncos. With the lambos and the women. Yet we are more like the local rugby league team that just finished a feed from the pub. We need to embrace what luxury we are to have everything to own it and play like it. Yet we play like a poor local club surviving on meat tray donations.
100% true mate. We have had a soft underbelly for years.
