But you also said they are doing well. 1 from 4 with a win barely over Saints who are winless? They are playing tough but at this stage do not have the skills to get much better teams. We are in a spot that is decent for them with our injuries, but they are not going good.

Well now is a time to get us with our injuries. But if they are it will be scrappy. If they beat us comfortably then that is where questions need to be asked.
I see GC being like us last year, they probably will have a good finish to the season, but for now their systems are still getting going and havent clicked yet.
1) Ryles appears to have NO idea! I mean signing Pezet, Kelly clearly shows what kind of ideas he has! Agreeing to allow Lomax to walk and then not working to get him back after R360 fell through has some question marks around it. Playing Walker in the run on side again in a poor option amongst other things
2) Penrith get a lot of favouritism from referees as did the Storm for years. Penrith cheat and get away with it! I'm not denying they're a good side but they're not that great! The Dragons in the 60's Eels and Dogs in the 80's and Roosters in the 70's were far better and they had more to contend with
Different era's of footy. Game is a lot faster and stronger today than back then. We cannot compare teams at all. I always say it is like horse racing, those who try to compare Phar Lap with stayers today simply cannot as the way the horses today are treated where they are basically athletes with the best training, vets, food, shelter you name it, where back in the 1920's it had nothing like that. So not a fair comparison.
Quickly, in 2024 Sydney City conceded the most penalties. Who was 3rd? Penrith, what do you know. They were 5th last year and Brisbane were 1st. 5th in 2022 and 3rd in 2021. If they were favoured wouldn't they be not penalised?????
They are great and what is more impressive is during the salary cap era where they get either juniors, average players and/or fringe first graders to excel in their system.
Now in terms of signing Pezet and Kelly. He agreed to those signings, as did MON who is in charge of identifying and signing players to what Ryles wants, it is a group effort. But the likes of Iongi, Walker, Williams are good to great signings. Cannot strike 100 all the time. Luckily the Pezet deal is only 1 year, so we cut bait at the end of the year.
As for Lomax, a few things. Firstly if a player is to kick stones then is that good for your roster? Added to that he felt a Winger is not worth $650k, i agree. Also, how do we know if Lomax was a good fit to the culture at Parramatta? He was an Arthur signing, so Ryles maybe did not want Lomax within the building for certain reasons. But getting him back after R360 fell through? You do realise he had a deal with Melbourne set before R360 fell through right? Also, that bridge was burned when Lomax decided to threaten to take us to court.
We have been poor in every game we are struggling to put together a 19 man squad next week.

GC is a must win, Wests wasn't but GC is. They can still beat a team but they barely got through Saints for a win at home. At least we get them in a week where we have to wait for Russell to return to strengthen our backline.
Both Centres back for the Dogs is big. If we can get 3 out of 6 coming up: GC (H), Dogs (H), Manly (A), Warriors (H), NQ (A) and Melbourne (H* MR) we could alright.
If we make the 8 it would be scraping in. This squad needs finals for that momentum into 2027, but also our R&R now are into a situation where they are forced to act to assist with losing Hopgood, Doorey and Simonsson for the year.
