Eels will be heavy favourites next week.

Probably the first game this year we are expected to win and win comfortably. Will be a real test for Ryles to make sure complacency doesn't kick in and we still play a good game. Cowboys look terrible at the moment but we can't just expect to show up and win.

      • In Paytens press conference he said 5 people are returning next week

        • Mikaele, McLean, Clifford and McIntyre are listed as round 23, that's most of their bench. Though doesn't help their defence as that's been the same.

Again I'll never say we are morals, but we play like last few weeks we should be fine. I am more interested to see how we play this week compared to Melbourne.

If we lose this I'll throw in the word embarrassing. If we do win, then Ryles is on right track as odd as it sounds just beating NQ.

      • That's onething I've tend not to look at and worry about is the other side.We just have to concentrate on being the best version of ourselves and if we can do this the result will take care of itself.

        • Yes, Coryn, being the best version of ourselves is the answer.....but i am not sure we even understand that.

The problem will be physcological, the expectations will be high and obvious. How we react when we drop that ball, miss that tackle, combined with a poor decision from the ref or bunker will be the real decider.

This will test Ryles as much as anything, new for him as well.....the 5/8 position is still a factor, if Renzo is anywhere as good as his reputation, then play him now. It would be a deciding factor going into the game, the talk will be about him and not all those mental issues that will plague them without distraction.

        • Lol fark me more dribble..analysing the weaknesses of opposition players plays little part is game planning apparently! Lol seriously everyone time you post the average IQ of this site drops dramatically.

          • As soon as 10 cents enters the conversation the IQ of the thread and it's participants drops like a stone.

Dont worry though champ I know I own you.

        • Keep it simple. Sometimes the most simple way of doing something is the most effective.

  • Canterbury Bulldogs went in as heavy favourites against Wests

    • Better off calling them the Canterbury Wicked Witches of the West. As soon as it rains they melt.

    • Lot of teams are struggling as favourites these past few rounds, it's much easier to play as the underdog with nothing to lose. But I kind of see the eels and cowboys on similar levels so we shouldn't be talking them lightly at all 😂
