EELS WEAVE MAGIC

Titans playmaker Tom Weaver has had talks with the Eels about potentially joining the club next season. It is understood Parramatta have an interest in Weaver about the prospect of the 21-year-old joining the club next season.

Weaver has played six games since making his NRL debut last year. The Eels are in the need of back-up to regular starters Mitch Moses and Dylan Brown with youngster Ethan Sanders joining the Raiders next season while fill-in Daejarn Asi is uncontracted for next season and could be off to the Super League.

Weaver has spent the majority of the season playing for Tweed in the Queensland Cup.

The Eels also had discussions with fellow Titans half Tanah Boyd about a potential mid-year switch but he was reluctant to move clubs.

  • Why not, as a back-up and a proper Halfback should be fine.

    • Yep, backups aren't supposed to be guns. Hopefully fellow Queenslander Josh Lynn gets to that level too. Weaver is only a year older, with an extra 16 games experience against grown men.

  • He would make a good 14 to give Hands a mid-game spell.

  • You know ur scraping bottom of the barrel when tahna Boyd isn't interested

    • What you expect Boyd to be excited about being a back-up when he had been starting for 2 years at GC? He would feel he could get a chance to start elsewhere.

      • Boyd is not a Starter. He is a Super League player. He is really bad.

        • I don't think Boyd is that bad. He's just a 14 rather than a half.

          • Hes hurrendous

            • But he has still played more FG football than the critic's who just lined up against him......

You people just don't understand that you don't understand.

        • I didn't say he is a starter, if you read my comment before jumping on an assumption for what I am saying.

I said he thinks he is, therefore will go for a deal to represent that.
