          • Not sure what those figures were based on. The only clubs with bigger attendances are mostly 1 team cities like Brisbane etc. With a population of around 300,000, the greater Parramatta area is much smaller than those cities.

            • Longfin, varying populations was the point of the metrics I read. That is, things like membership numbers, game attendance figures, TV viewership, can all be measured independently. One-city teams like Broncos, Melbourne and Cowboys fare well there, while the Eels do very well too. But factoring in 'region' populations is meant to standardize between smaller and larger populations and present shares of crowd attendance or player participation per capita (so to speak).

It was in those per capita figures that the Eels were mid or lower tier ranked. That could simply be explained by greater 'entertainment' competition per se, of course, and have little to do with demotivated bandwagon fans!

FYI looks like a 14% increase in Eels membership since the end of 2022 season (apparently 32, 262 members), recorded as 37,000 by end of 2025. Storm are at 40k and Broncos 60k I think.

  • The Titans  really what rivalry ?    .... I guess two evenly matched teams in the NRLs eyes they dont want a blow out   then again they did put 50 on us

  • Joash and Origin shouldn't be spoken in the same sentence.  I like his energy and enthusiasm but plenty of other players should have been given the opportunity who have a realistic chance of actually playing origin.

It seems they wanted 1 player from each team with a bye and he was selected as we don't really have anyone you would consider a good chance of playing SOO in the future.  I think someone like Jenkins from Penrith who was actually discussed as an outside chance of playing should have gotten his spot.

  • Cool for us to be a part of the spectacle.

Honestly, Vegas is a shadow of what it used to be. They used to use gambling gains to subsidise everything else so the accomodation and food etc used to be reasonably priced. Now? It's basically always just booked out by corporate conferences so everything is airport prices...it's insane.

Food and drink is average and crazy expensive. The accommodation doesn't seem that bad until they add in their "Resort Tax" and then suddenly it's expensive. And god forbid you even dare to take something from the minibar - that's $100 plus tax right there.

If you're going to make it part of a bigger holiday and go to some actual nice places in the US (ie not anywhere around Vegas, LA and San Fran are still crime ridden holes), then it could be worth it. If you're flying halfway across the world just to go to an NRL game in Vegas? Save your cash, see a home game, and then use the travel money to go somewhere stunning instead!

But again, good on us for the spectacle. Hopefully none of the boys get into mischief (although to be honest there's not really much of that to be found in Vegas anymore either).
