  • Nice at least it ain't Melbourne. Will be hard for Melbourne with a new coach, going over there for first pre-season.

    • You know something we don't re Bellamy? We may have heard the same LB.

      • Not really need to hear anything, when Slater interviewed him before the game last week he was on the verge of breaking down. His illness is probably much worse then he's letting on.

      • I think it's pretty much known that this will be Bellamy's last year. His illness is fine and they said he will be fine for immediate future but come this time next year who knows his condition? Worst thing he would want to do is stay and have to leave mid year.

    • Who's home game?
NRL wants to make it an even contest so they put the two crap teams against each other.

  • “There’s no better time for the Parramatta Eels to head to Las Vegas, and we’re ready to showcase our Club to the world,” said Sarantinos.

Is the Club delusional, do they really not understand how bad we are as a playing group. "Theres no better time" . mmmmmm how about a time when we have more talent in the team, or we are having a winning season. I hope that statement is more about hype then reality and fact. And they are working overtime in the background .If not we are in a worse position then we feared. Imagine going to Vegas to soak up the game and the Titans put another 50 on us.

    • It's hype. The Eels had been putting this off until they virtually had no choice. Commercially, it'll be big for the club.

      • Why is it big commercially? surely we make more $ from a home game. Where does the money come from. Or do the gambling interests that support this whole Vegas boondoggle just cut us a participation cheque for  helping with their marketing.

Call it hype all you want but it's a club statement nontheless & I will absolutely hold it against Jim. It's poor form and an epic failure to read the room.

        • Against the Titans, we'd lose money on a home game at CommBank. We get a poor TV timeslot and small crowds because no one cares about the Titans.

There are a collection of commercial benefits:

          • Vegas merchandising range
          • Exclusive ticket sales
          • Increase in gate sales for home sides in Vegas. We'd go from a financial loss to a six figure profit on this game.
          • Increase in sponsorship and opportunities for commercial partners (Think Vegas-specific commercial packages and sponsorships)
