SMH article has the eels roster valued at 14th in the competition just above the dragons and Titans. We are well behind the heavyweights in roster class. Ryles is doing a solid job with what he has available but R + R need to go shopping badly. Panthers roster is valued at 3 million dollars more

And the Warriors just signed Warbrick for 2027. I'm starting to think that MON is just a cardboard cutout.
I reckon a cardboard cut out has more pull than mon.
Lol
MON is crap. As mentioned here, he had been in the job for more than a decade. BA is gone but why is MON still here? His main KPI is to sign targetted players that we want, not players that other clubs are willing to let go. They said we had money to buy, but whywe are not signing players that are our priority. We were beaten by the Dragons for Koloamatangi with a 1 year contract difference. MON's job was to push it and convince the Eels FOs and coaching staff to agree to the same terms but no, we stood on a 4-year offer. Unfortunately, I reckon we will suffer the same recruitment failures in the future unless he and his R&R team is replaced.
How do you say ( know)what his main KPI is? if it is his main KPI you sack the guy who gave him the KPI because he obviously failed....can you guys not understand it's directions there given that are the problems they have......why has not MON been sacked? because he has done nothing to be sacked for....that's the only possible excuse.......why can't you guys see that.
I am not protecting MON, I have never met the man....he seems personable enough. BUT it seems you desperately want to see someone sacked.....well lets sack him......but when you do sack him and appoint a replacement, the replacement will not be a big name unless he is empowered to make decisions that nobody else from the Chairman down is prepared to make.
