Eels offering Jordan samrani

It keeps lagging when I try putting the article up so I won't bother but coming from code sports.

The eels are offering Jordan samrani in a player swap for Mitch Barnett and also a three year 2.6 million dollar deal.Personally I think it's a bit to much.Lmk your thoughts 💭?

  • Mmmm not sure on that. We are have very limited depth in backfield and Samrani's versatility as a Centre and Winger is important to our depth.

But also if he can play full-time FG then good on him.

    • LB, you disagree a bit with whom we target and what we will pay, which confuses me at times. If you had 1 target, Who would you target and what would you be prepared to pay and give to make it happen. Its cool if you don't want to answer, to me Samarani is a depth signing, if we listen to our experts in the know, we have a lot of depth signings making there way up from the juniors reps. Not many state of origin props around.

      • It's not so much Barnett, I've made it known that with De Belin and Paulo I feel our middles are too old. If De Belin or Paulo move on I'm more open to Barnett and would like him. I also have not had an issue with the cost, I think the average for Barnett of around $850k is fine.

I was happy we targeted Keaon, i was happy they chased Galvin and chased Da Silva. So not sure where you get the idea that i am against a lot of who we target. I am concerned with age and coming off an ACL for Barnett too.

In this case, I am not sure we are in the position to weaken our back depth. As if either Russell, JAC, Kelly, Simonsson or Penisini long term and Samrani is gone next off the rank is Tago. Under him nobody really stands out.

Depth is so important and I feel better with our forwards depth than our backs depth is all.

  • I think Barnett will end up at Brisbane anyway, not too worried about it lol

  • Surprised to hear this, in our severe shortage of outside backs n even worse next year, Samrani is definitely one of our much more promising ones.

reckon this is a nutty move and even worse that it's out there in media. What happened to us keeping things quiet?

    • Exactly. I reckon it's all BS

  • Offer the Penisini brothers

  • April fools Day isn't here until April 1st.

  • Barnett is too old and past it..Id rather keep Samrani and I'm surprised he's not in the side against the Broncos..If this is even remotely true it's a really ridiculous and idiotic idea

  • What the heck this club is in turmoil let go a junior and sign a guy that has 2 years probably left in him

"I really don't like these player swap offers being made public. Knowing our club (like the ryan matterson saga), we probably didn't even consult Samrani. Not a good look.
And even if they did consult Samrani, how would he feel knowing he's not…"

"I doubt Warriors accept it though. They would want top tier quality. Lomax would have been ideal."

"One thing i will say is let's say this is true, could it be that we are about to get Tago? As MON said they are after a middle forward and another back. I doubt they move on a back in order to get Barnett. But if we get Tago, then Samrani becomes…"
