Begs the question. If his knee is chronic, is us even giving him $650k for one season even worth it. The value we see with Junz is experience. But that experience we want on the field too. We have a lot of good young middles, Junz is valuable to them. But as well when on the field he is.
How many more games does Junz miss with this issue? Added to that is the fact he is already rested and looked after, he will not only come back to pre-season later, but he might not do much pre-season at all due to his knee and managing it.
Also, no club can actually force a player to sit out of rep duties. Can they recommend it or say they don't want them playing? Of course, but the player ultimately decides to play or not. So not much we can really do there other than simply pulling the contract and he is left to either go to SL or Perth.
Should Paulo be picky? I mean that's human nature sometimes, I don't blame him getting beat deal possible. But also at the same time, he his mucking us around as well. Both parties have not done well with this.

I think $600k is more than enough. He will be in the 17 every week when fit.
But it shows how desperate Perth were offering him 2 years up front with chronic knee issues. He also has a chronic toe issue as well.

But what experienced middle do you sign? Also, we only really need an experienced middle for one more year before the likes of Tuivaiti, Brown, Koina, Ryda are all older and little more experienced.

Sam Hughes can do a job but the main reason we are wanting Paulo is experience. Hughes doesn't have anywhere near the experience of Hughes. Thats the difference.
Frizell wouldn't be too bad
Guess what Joel, neither of those players are interested in playing for Parramatta or have a relationship with the club and troops that Junior has. Hughes once showed his allegiance and thoughts on Parra, are you aware of that?
Frizell is a great warrior and if you went after him and he was willing to come to Parra you would probably being paying 500k...what ever Junior gets will be a lot closer to that than the 900k someone is asking for on his behalf.....
Ryles would know more about his knee than any of us; Paulo would also be doing some work in prep for WC now. The club would know all of this and each club would do medicals etc.
And? He can still
play but Parra obviously want to manage his work load. Playing in a WC might seem not good for Paulo's knee.

The club would know more than any of us about his injuries etc and workload; personally I don't care if he stays or not as long as we are not paying overs; but like a few here would look at his injuries and factor that in.The fact he wants to play WC is fine with me, as like Moses etc you cannot stop them.
