Parramatta have emerged as the frontrunners to land Bradman Best, with multiple sources indicating the Newcastle centre is increasingly likely to join the Eels beyond 2027.
Best has been identified as a priority target for Parramatta, who are looking to bolster Jason Ryles' backline with an established representative star.
While a deal is yet to be confirmed, the Eels are understood to be in the box seat despite Newcastle's efforts to retain him with a lucrative extension.

if braith said this, then i would believe it
We should all relax, I think we have a few signings coming.
If best was going to stay at Newcastle that deal would have been done long ago, he's leaving
Talk this morning from Hooper that Dogs will likely go after Walker, which means they have to move Burton on. They were of the view that Eels fucked up signing Luai for 1yr and we would miss out on going after him.
Roosters have just blown up the player market really. There will be a lot of scrambling and movement as a result. Makes for an interesting off season! I reckon Deardon ends up at the Chooks.
Deardon to Chooks looks very likely, then Walker to somewhere probably PNG in 28 and maybe someone else for 27.
Also sounds like Farnworth is going to the Chooks, which means that the Dolphins will throw everything at Bostock and probably retain him.
Luai is already getting his picture taken with the PNG jersey and has done a bunch of advertising work over there. Pretty embarassing for Parra when our player for next year is openly showing how excited he is to be somewhere else the year afterwards.
It would be pretty hilarious for the Roosters to somehow make their squad stronger after just winning a premiership by landing both Farnworth and Deardon.
Isn't Deardon on a salary linked to the cap? So if the cap goes up as expected his salary could balloon to $1.8m in 2028? Big coin to walk away from, though living close to his new child will be a big pull to Sydney
Marto on mmm radio was saying this morning Dearden is on 12% of whatever the cap is.
14% on 360 a month or so ago
Who to believe? Probably no one knows the truth, makes for a good yarn though.
@bringbacsemi: Hooper has the same batting average as Kent-0.0
