Parramatta have made their position crystal clear, with football boss Jim Sarantinos stating the club will not consent to the player signing with another NRL side unless there is an appropriate exchange of value. Speaking firmly, Sarantinos emphasised that the Eels see no reason to disadvantage themselves by allowing a release without adequate compensation, reinforcing the club’s commitment to protecting its roster and long-term interests. The stance signals that any potential move will need to deliver clear benefits to Parramatta, not just the player or rival clubs.

  • Stefano may want to come back to sydney

  • Jack Howarth has been selected for the Queensland State of Origin squad as a reserve and was in the extended squad for Game II of the 2025 series but didn't play a senior game, being ruled out of Game I by injury and Game III by appendicitis, so pretty good chance he will play representative football.

  • If there going to swing for the fence why not ask for Cam Munster may aswell we lose Pezet next year send Lomax there now on the basis we get Munster in 27 onwards.

    • why not just make munster an offer now as his only contracted for 26 atm

      • Zero tackle has him contracted to the storm until 2027 for $1.1 million.

  • Normally not this unforgiving, but just wish Parra didn't make any kind of offer at all and stuck to the contract release terms.

scenario- next player wants out of a signed and sealed contract, which in fact he is saying he isn't 'all in' right, we have to release as it goes against our ethos next minute roosters Melb Penrith ask for swap deal etc etc etc. By this whole swapping suggestion we are allowing ourselves to become temporary bases. I hate it. This Lomax example really really peeves me off and swapping for a player who really does not wish to be out of Melb absolutely irks me and should others. Im actually surprised so many are ok with it tbh.

point is we should've made a huge statement here and the whole bloody nrl and teams ought to support for the good of all fans and the game. The whole nrl contract is a bloody joke. It needs to stop!

this was clearly a move lomax couldn't lose... egg on parra eels face for mine

    • Parra still has the option of not releasing Lomax and forcing him to sit out the remaining terms of his contract- three years.

The agreement was agreed in 'Good Faith': under these conditions both parties would have sought legal clarification and confirmation of the terms of termination of contract

Both parties confirmed to each other that by agreeing and signing the deal the conditions were set.

Lomax manager could be in a legal pickle if Lomax cannot get a deal and claims that the poor advice from his manager means he loses his income

      • ...and so we should abide by terms of release. Pretty sure there would've been no swap deal suggestion in there. So why are we softening up.

he could've just asked if we'd have him back? But he and storm waited till we'd searched for and announced a replacement...dirty pool style.

obviousky the guy was full of it talking his good would've been and crap lije " Im so glad I made the switch from my comfort zone" blabla

    • Macy I think the clubs done well here they've outlined there terms and have the leverage.

I agree if we don't get what WE want and I mean exactly what we want he sits.

  • Do you think Jason Ryles and Nathan Brown is teaching Jim and MON on the art of negotiations and how to run the front office?
