A superb 80 minute display from the Parramatta Eels saw them run out 36-0 winners over the St George-Illawarra Dragons. The win broke a couple of records for the Eels and consolidated their position in the Top 8.
Brad Arthur stated the Eels were too soft through the middle following the match against Cronulla. Against the Dragons it seemed that their young forward pack had come of age.
For the opening 20 minutes the match was relatively even. The Eels had plenty of possession but were unable to make it pay off.
St George looked to have scored when they went down their left edge but Gerard Beale was unable to ground the ball. After absorbing plenty of pressure the Eels managed to work the ball down the field.
It was there that Jarryd Hayne and Nathan Peats combined to send Ken Sio over. Hayne went into dummy-half and Peats threw a perfectly weighted pass to Sio.
With the Dragons looking to build more pressure, Benji Marshall spilled the ball behind him and Norman swooped on the loose ball to make it 12-0 to the Eels at half-time.
Following half-time the Eels started the stronger side. Junior Paulo produced a run, reminiscent of Fuifui Moimoi, when he powered through the Dragons' front-line. He drew Dugan before slipping the ball to Hayne.
That try seemed to kick the Eels into top gear, their following try coming only five minutes later when Ken Sio crossed for his second and Sandow's sideline conversion saw the score at 24-0.
It was then that Jarryd Hayne injected himself once more. Taking the ball on the left edge, he straightened and drew two defenders before slipping a deft pass to a rampaging Pauli Pauli.
The St George defenders were helpless in stopping the rampaging back-rower. Sandow continued his form with the boot and made it five from five.
The Eels weren't finished though. Jarryd Hayne slipped into first receiver and made the Dragons' defence look elementary. A quick left foot step and he sliced through the St George line. Sandow kept his perfect record with the boot and the score stood at 36-0.
The rampaging Eels win saw them keep a team scoreless for the first time since 2009 with the win also being largest the Eels have ever had over the Dragons.
The win also puts the Eels into third place, with the lowest place they can drop to being sixth coming into their bye weekend.

Woohoo.
Super said 6th?
She's a mod, I'll take her tip.
If Raiders beat Panthers and if Newcastle beat Manly at Brookvale by 44 or more, we'll be 2nd.
Pretty fair chance.
