The Parramatta Eels have today broken a 79 year old record. Never before have the Eels conceded this many points in the first 6 rounds of any football season, ever. Having conceded 226 points in the first few weeks of the competition places this team as the worst of the worst. With the Eels having won 14 wooden spoons since 1947, those 14 teams were still a better defensive team then the 2026 Eels. Even if we go back to 1954 where the Eels won only 1 game that entire year, that team was still better defensively then this team. That team had only let in 108 points after 6 rounds.
Between 1956 and 1961 the Eels won 6 consecutive wooden spoons and all these 6 teams were still better defensively then the 2026 Eels after 6 rounds.
Lets put this in perspective the 1982 Eels team only conceded 242 points all year, the 1963 team only conceded 165 points all year. There are several other teams that meet this criteria as well but you get my point
This team must confront some realities, this coaching staff must try something different, this Recruitment strategy is simply not working. Is it time for fans to start getting angry or at the very least disgusted in what is being portrayed as a competent football team. When does the acceptance of mediocrity boarding on straight out laziness get thrown out by fans and questioned.
Players like Penisni, Papalii, Kelly, Paulo, De Belin, Simonsson, Pezet are spoken about as if they are first graders. On what we are seeing this year in a record breaking Eels Team as the worst defensive team ever, history suggests otherwise.
Where does it stop, when do more fans stop bury their heads suggesting that certain players are okay, that R@R are doing a good job. When is it time to demand more. Personally i'm a bit sick and tired of inept mediocrity at best. I'm actually feeling disgusted with my team, with my club today, we can throw in that today against the Titans is our worst ever loss at combank stadium, another record broken, i'm sure there are going to be many more records broken this year by our 2026 team, i'm afraid to think about that.
Have we been tricked by our club into thinking they have been doing a great job, when facts are starting to show otherwise. How far off the pace are we.

Since 1908 Our team the 2026 Eels are the third worst ever. Thats over 118 years, that's 1330 different teams. The 2026 Eels are the third worst ever, in conceding points after 6 rounds of a competition.
Not to help this team out by naming a team worse but The title sits with the 2002 Cowboys with 256 points scored against them in the first 6 rounds. However we play the dogs next week we could become the absolute outright worst after 7 rounds since 1908 ever if we were to concede 46 points. So I guess there is something for these players to play for.

Great post! Thats really is depressing. Our 3 signing this year have been terrible. I thought Jdb would have offered more. We need a blue collar middle or maybe 2 of them. Some who rolls up there sleeves and not afraid to get dirty. We have no workers in our forward pack. We have no enforcers. Just a snowflake ❄ pack especially in the middle.
