Parramatta Eels' Telstra Premiership campaign has gone from bad to worse with Jarryd Hayne set to miss 2-4 weeks with the hip injury he suffered in Saturday night's loss to the Cronulla Sharks.
Hayne had scans after suffering the injury in the 14-4 loss and will get the results on Monday afternoon.
NRL.com understands the veteran star is facing a minimum of two games on the sidelines and could be out for a month.
Bevan French is also under an injury cloud due to the shoulder injury he suffered at ANZ Stadium on the weekend in Parramatta's third straight loss to start the season.
With Clint Gutherson still a few weeks away from a return from knee surgery, utility Will Smith could start at fullback for the Eels in their Easter Monday clash with the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium.
The Tigers received better news on the injury front on Monday morning - Benji Marshall had scans on an ankle injury suffered in the second half of the side's loss to the Brisbane Broncos on Friday night and remained in a moon boot over the weekend.
Casualty Ward: Round 4
However, the injury is not as serious as first feared and he is a strong chance to play against Parramatta.
Marshall will be named in the No.6 jersey on Tuesday and given every chance to prove his fitness. Tyson Gamble is set to be named on the bench as cover for Marshall while Tuimoala Lolohea is set to return from a knee injury and could also be used at five-eighth if needed.
Josh Reynolds is two weeks away from a return from his hamstring injury.from nrl.com

No Hayne. Who are we going to blame when we lose to Tigers? If all these rumours about players not getting along is true, I’m sure with no Hayne, they would be playing great against the Tigers
Our forwards again will be dominated by Packer, Matalino, Twal and co. It's very difficult to win the ruck with a small pack.
Brown shouldn't be taking the heat for the pack Arthur has put together. Brown has been playing busted because there's nobody else who can handle the workload.
*Beu Scott another great game with 20 odd meters gained.
* Evans hasn't the motor or bulk for the job intended.
* mannah has a shot but is getting slower and would be better suited playing on the bench behind two gun props.
* Alvaro looks to have lost 15kgs. What's been going on? Are we now marathon runners?
*zero go forward will make it extremely difficult .
Chief, I want to see Vave, Terepo, and T-Rex get a run. We will add a lot of go forward with these players.
I think our bench should be -
14. Smith
15. Terepo
16. Edwards
17. Vave, T-Rex, or Evans (either one will do). I am not sold on Evans though.
I was thinking the same about Alvaro on Saturday night. He looks way too trim to be effective at prop, especially given he isn't an explosive ball runner. I am all for the guys being fit obviously (which strangely they don't actually look to be fit enough), but not at the expense of them being able to perform their role on the field.
I really felt for Brown on Saturday night, he busted his arse all game and had very little support from the rest of the guys up front. Evans - 5 runs 41 metres, Mannah 5 runs 56 metres, Alvaro 12 runs 86 metres, Scott 4 runs 30 metres, Moeroa 7 runs 59 metres. As opposed to Brown 20 runs 187 metres. That is not good enough from our middle guys.
Is Terepo back King? I know Trex played yesterday. I think that bench would be good.
He was named on the extended bench last game, a shot of the dressing room against the Sharks, it looked like he was in the training gear, I could be reading too much into it.
Yes i am sure he was in the shed when Hayne was injured; we need some size
Yeah, he was putting his suit on, must have been warming up with the team in case of late injury.
So who should have Arthur signed?
yes we need a big forward
but that does not mean it was possible or that Arthur was allowed to pay overs
