Apparently the case today has been delayed due to Parramatta and Melbourne engaging in deep talks to get a deal done. Negotiations had ran overnight. What is hilarious is people on social media believe Parramatta know they will lose so are making a deal. Ummmm no this is the NRL not wanting to be involved and not wanting their stuff leaked so the heavies are on Melbourne to get something done.
The rumour at the moment is it could be a three way trade. Jesse Ramien's name has been floating around as Cronulla want cap space in order to front load contracts for next year. One rumour suggested Melbourne would get both Lomax and Ramien, therefore Melbourne would be more open to releasing a player if they get two. Now could that be for example Howarth since Ramien will be one Centre? Maybe but it seems a deal could be struck at the 11th hour.
A separate report also suggests the call from Parra for Lomax not to play Round 1 could still be on table.

Blore wants back to Sydney, why would he head to the Warriors
I'd bet house on no issues cap wise for Melb esp Bellamy's last year fairy tale ... . Vlandys comment "parra fans all want blood" !?!? No, we want what was willingly signed and agreed on registered contract with you numbnuts!
"....Melbourne could also end up with a salary cap headache, with the SMH previously reporting Parramatta are claiming the Storm promised to cover Lomax’s legal expenses.
Therefore, the NRL will have to make a decision as to whether those funds gave Melbourne an advantage in their bid to sign Lomax and therefore come under their cap.
His legal bill could reportedly sit at around $250,000.
Meanwhile, V’landys has raised an interesting point — the Eels also recruited Lomax for free, urging the club to act in the “best interests of the game”.
“I know the Parramatta supporters all want blood, but when you look back Parramatta got him for free to start with. He went from St George to Parramatta at no transfer fee,” V’landys said.
“To be in the courts is really not in the best interest of the game.
“At the beginning of it I sat between the two parties trying to get a deal, I told them ‘be can do people, go and have the best interests of the game as a whole’,”
“Don’t have your self interests in it, just what is best for the game. Unfortunately they couldn’t come to that resolution.”

It's mind blowing to watch V'landy's argue that giving Lomax free reign to ignore his agreements, switch between any club he wants and be totally unnaccountable for his actions is "in the best interest of the game as whole".
Are we not part of the game?
yes it's mind blowing Acme, never once not one iota of understanding to us at all, nor to the signed registered by nrl release contract either!
Think as much as "Lomax is acting for his family ..." and has a duty too per Vlandys, our club has shown the better level of commitment and honestly to their huge amount of fans... we are a huge part of the game!
funny Mace how $250k Lawyers fees can become $30K with a new retainer for the lawyers firm to represent Mr Billionaire owner of say $220K with more to come. mmmmmmm
That sort of thing doesnt happen, just ask the NRL, the salary cap is being adhered to by all the clubs. mmmmmm
Exactly BE, it'll be zero on cap for dodgy bros and maybe even close to nothing for the turdmax :( after all the nrl will view that storm was trying to keep him in game per V’landys deep wishes
Why do people think that just because we've entered negotiations (which was always going to happen) that for some reason we are in a worse position or accept terms that aren't to our liking?
Because people dont understand how court works. Plus it is also possible some in the media who do understand (or have some idea) how court works will have an agenda and frame it as if we folded to sell papers.
Negotiations are a good thing, it's better to avoid a court imposed ruling if possible. There's nothing to suggest we aren't going to stand our ground and get what we want.
Exactly. Our leverage is at its greatest now. Storm and NRL want it to go away. If the trial goes ahead and we lose leverage gone. If we win but the term of the deed is reduced we lose leverage. And if we go to trial and embarrassing stuff about the nrl comes out we lose leverage. This is the perfect time to negotiate - i hope we do it well. This is all about extracting max value not justice.
