Dylan who?

C'mon down the Volkswagen!

I wouldn't offer DB 2 cents more to remove the clauses in his contract. I hope JR actually flips the script and says you're free to go now if your not happy.

"Just don't drag this out for the next 10 weeks, you are not a bonafide marquee player as your manager and ex coach has pumped your tyres and ego up with, actually you are on massive overs, be grateful and put the chewing gum and attitude away and start repaying and earning it"

The Volkswagen is probably only on $200k

  • Let's not get carried away. as good as he was he struggled in defence big time. Brown is a elite talent who we cannot lose

I can't see how you can have 2 halves taking $2,000,000 plus per season and have a balanced roster. The Storm are the only team that have that sort of money in their halves, but they seem to get there low to middle earners playing way above their pay packet. They also manage with budget price outside backs and edge forwards. I still believe the best overall balance of a roster is with bigger money spread between your fullback, hooker and 1 of your halves. If the Eels can get there new young fullback and one of there budget dummy-halfs to play well above their salary, the Moses- Brown combination could work. The problem will then be, the young fullback and budget dummy-half will be chased by other clubs and will demand bigger contacts to remain at the Eels. The only way the Eels would be able to pay the extra $$$ is by releasing players and weakening their roster.

    • I wonder how the ponies do it.

      Patrick Carrigan $800k

      Payne Hass        $1.1m

      Reece Walsh      $1.2m

      Selwyn Cobbo   $?

      Ben Hunt           $?

      Ezra Mam         $?

      Adam Reynolds $?

      Katoni Staggs $700K

Dosn't seem like that all fits under the cap to be honest.

      • Bronco Bucks. Lots of 3rd party deals on and off the books.

        • hahahahaha yep.

It definitely helps being the biggest club in the NRL, plus they were a 1 team city for their first 35 years ( bussinesses would be throwing everything possible to get third party deals). The Broncos get a massive leg up with so many Friday night free to air games, and that's something sponsors want. Although, not so much as in years gone by, the cost of living in Brisbane compared with Sydney is another advantage. $600,000 Brisbane dollars goes alot further than $600,000 Sydney dollars. If I was an NRL player with a young family Brisbane would be high on my list of destinations.

        • yes so very true.

        • But Slippery , have you been to Brisbane ?  I love QLD , my old man lives in Bribie , but Brisbane is a hole.  Imagine being a player from say Cronulla or Wollongong , and arriving in Brisbane lol.  You'd think you'd arrived in a 3rd world country.  The place is that bad even the junkies lock their bikes up whilst shopping .

          • Not like that at all Wiz, you could do a lot worse and its not a fluke that Brisbane is the 3rd most expensive city in OZ.

I come from Sydney still support NSW in cricket/football and most other things (unless my grandkids and kids are playing for Qld)..... that said I am very comfortable living in Brisbane and would not dream of going back to Sydney. No negative on Sydney just positive on Brisbane. All things do not have to be Black or White Wiz.

If Vlandys wasn't forcing the outcome why is it us going to court for enforcement and not Lomax going to seek relief.

It calmly and factually frames the narrative and reveals what the club has quietly tolerated and patiently endured with Team Lomax, exposing a dynamic that private negotiations never could.
