He seems to be improving every game but from his first game the 2 stand outs I have noticed are his defence and courage. I noticed in his early games he wasn't afraid to take on the defence or even run a hit up if he noticed the defences were up and a pass was risky. In his return game from injury he also had mindset to run where other players returning from injury can be hesitant, he clearly loves the heavy contact and as Joey johns and JT have said numerous times, sometimes a half just needs to do a tough hit up to get themselves into the game.
As a smaller player he also plays smart. He knows he can't tackle the big players high wrapping up the ball but pulls off classic low tackles usually managing to get the bigger players down without help, and drives through using his shoulder when given the chance.
Moses and other smaller halves seem to think that their best chance is put their body in front and slow the runner down till help comes which works sometimes but is not as effective. Although Moses defence has vastly improved , Brown already has much better defence as he doesn't seem to need the help Moses or other halves need. By constantly tackling low he is at risk of head knocks and shoulder injuries but he seems to have good footwork and body placement to ensure he gets his head in the right spot. I can't recall him having 1 HIA despite regularly tackling huge backrowers and centres at pace by taking their legs out from beneath them front on. I would like to see stat for how many tackles he is first player in and how many he goes in low. It seems many players have forgotten or are scared to do front on low tackles or cut people in half like the axe gillmeister used to but I think Brown has the technique and heart to pull it off. He will add size and strength over the next year or 2 still being young and only having 1 offseason so far, as long as his back holds up. Could his defencive style be part of reason for his back injury?
A major positive I picked up last night was also how close he seems to be to Lane. I went to my first game at the new stadium last night which was great and 1 thing I noticed that you don't see in tv is that brown and Lane always chatting and having a laugh and seem like genuinely good mates. Having Lane wrapped up could be major factor in securing brown for his next contract. They have a good combo going and if their good friends off field as well it could help.

His kick for Sivo was brilliant. His pass back inside to Gutherson was all class. The way he had his hands out in front reminded me of Brett Kenny. He's so calm takes pressure off Moses. I love the way he checks back inside to straighten his run, makes the defenders stop, giving outside runners time and space.
He is a tough young kid takes the line & will get smashed rather than push the pass for no advantage. Great defensively has all the skills is a priority long term signing imo
The toughness is what separates good from great. It means if team is on the backfoot he will find a way to get involved where other halves may drift out of the game then find it hard to get involved when the time is right
Just my observations but the team as a whole and most noticeably Moses game seems to have improved greatly since Browns return , like there is pressure off him to create everything everytime.
Spot on FMP (can't even begin to say that last p word *smile*). Drown is all class and composure. Wrapping him up should be Parra's first priority!
Lane has also been very impressive.
Next year we’ll have Moses with the kick try assist and brown with the try assist ball in hand. I also love the combination he is forming with lane, we are looking more dangerous that side week by week
Dylan’s the one.
Agreed about the Bye's Crock and at the same age he is definately better than Cooper Cronk. Bar further serious injuries and when he's ready, wait to you see the incredible tackling style of Kyle Schneider.
Sign him now
Hopefully he isn't 1 player the board dig their heels in over 50-100k extra a year. We have been smart with our recruitment recently and haven't given into managers demands. Managing the salary cap well also includes identifying which players to give a little extra too to ensure they sign so will be interesting to see what sort of contract he gets. Warriors are going to go big to secure him and will be hard to match $$ wise.
