Dylan Brown

Not sure if his being too respectful staying at a club till the end that gave him everything or his heart isn't in it for Newcastle couldn't blame the kid though. Was a great deal and set for life.

No chance would happen would you have him at Parra again if things don't work out but in the centres. Do a better job the Russell or Penensi

      • Explain to me how DB is playing for himself exactly.

Who was the only guy chasing back from the other side of the field when teams made breaks for the previous 2 seasons.

I understand his form hasn't been there but in the same breath neither has the team.

        • Ok leave a team that nurtured you from a young age, help make you who you are offer you good coin ( break it all down not getting a hell of a lot more at the castle) fail to put club first and unable to control yourself when out on the drink and leave us a player down while on suspension. Cover tackles are cover tackles and yes that was a good part of he's game at times I agree. But if you were to delve into it deeper, he let us down with no vision comfortable in the fact he was BA"s golden child. Never was a game breaker never won us a game on his back never took charge of a team or situation . Comfort zone hence playing for himself. I will miss the player he could of been but disappointed the player he become

          • Leave the team that nurtured you.

Hes been here 9 years he chose us over the warriors first time round and he chose us over everyone else last contract time.

It took a nrl record deal to get him to leave.

Now let's address his suspension yes he did let the team down but let's not pretend yourself and anyone one else whose been 20 on the juice hasn't made poor decisions. Also on that note don't pretend he's the only Parra player that hasn't been in that position in the past let alone nrl player.Context just saying.

What vision are you talking about what is that in reference to exactly as for cover tackles and cutting 2nd rowers in half how many halves in the game do that exactly.

Never was a game breaker obviously you've got recency bias I've seen him do it plenty over the years he's been here saying he's never done it is a flat out lie hell I've even seen him do it for the kiwis on an international stage.

Comfort zone I agree playing for himself I don't see that I just see a player that's been down on confidence and the end is nie.

        • Has DB been playing the last 2 seasons I'll take your word on that.

  • I have said this on this site before and I will go back to DB's comments to a question when he had a 'break out' year....

He doesn't watch any games, he doesn't study other players or opponents, he doesn't even know the past great players of the club he plays for.... his words were "HE JUST PLAYS HIS OWN GAME"

The day I heard those words come out of his mouth, was the day I knew that kid will never reach his full potential.

He will most likely not fulfill his Newcastle contract and end up in Rugby back in NZ. Good luck Knights!

The guy has peaked, the club will move on and hopefully find a young kid that loves his footy and wants to learn and improve. Hopefully his replacement will be grateful for the opportunity, show some loyalty and sticks with the club long term

    • Could not of said it better myself zip zip

    • well said Zip zip

      • They are typical social media type posts that reassure an opinion.

Neegan you made your points (twice) and rebutted twice.....but get the comfort of the last words that give you satisfaction.

Ducky, Zip Zip made his comments about his personal interests and you really didn't say much about him as a player.

Social media is always a notion of Sychophanting reassurance. Its a shame we can't just "shit and get of the pot".

As I have said previously I feel sorry for DB (notwithstanding his 13m) but Parra has been kissed on the dick in losing him after burnout. Maybe for Dyllan's sake the change in club and environment may resurrect him .....who knows?

As to being BA's love child, I never felt that because why I can see how DB may have had a legitimate case of being coached badly, he was always good enough to hold his place in the team and play half a dozen Test Matches for the Kiwi's.

PS I do not question the fact that he has been dropped this weekend, his body language when playing Dummy Half last week was atrocious. There are obviously reasons for this, and its unlikely we will ever know what took place.

        • Sitting in New Orleans airport a few months ago waiting for my connecting flight i stumbled across this site. I thought to myself " this is a great idea " Blue and Gold brotherhood throwing around ideas, a way to vent 39 years of frustration. And reading your very interesting and insightful blogs poppa which I enjoy( without sarcasm intended) Now I am not a social media type person that has  been speculated, so it was an out of character move on my part. I'm not on Sookbook, Bratchat or tic tac. Or any anti social media platform. In all honesty I think it's a blight on modern day society, but that's just my humble opinion. Just ask my kids and the under 16 team I coach lol. My roots for the mighty eels run deep. As a 7 year old I would ride my BMX 4 and a bit kilometres to and from training ( you could do that safely back then) to play for Cabra-vale Diggers. Three local teams were closer. So why did I ride so far to train and play for this team??? They were Blue and Gold, simple as that. Every time I put on that jersey I felt like I was playing for Parra  and I was so proud. I love the club even more now though I fight with frustration. So I took the jump recently to join in on the great blogs you guys put together and at times saucy banter. So if anything I have said has upset any I do apologise. The trouble with messaging is the void of vocal tone. Which more often than not can be misinterpreted. I am not sychophanting , have no need to take advantage of my brothers in blue and gold arms. I feel some of us might suffer from sesquipedalian or grandiloquent ( so much irony in that sentence I know)but that's ok with me and look forward to more. Last I will say of the DB I again apologies if one of you took it to heart, I took it to personally and was wrong to do so. I work as a representative of a DV organisation part time so my thoughts on the protection of woman run high. I struggle a little with us getting DW but you can't change what you can't control. Moving forward I look forward to some insightful blogs, interesting debates and some old fashioned laughs.

          • Sounds like I should be doing the apologising Neegan, Firstly love your history and the passion.

The fact you are coaching kids (any code) is a great compliment, u/16's probably the hardest age group.

I have always been protective to Dyllan as he has been ruthlessly attacked and misunderstood throughout most of his senior career with us. We have some fans that most certainly follow the stories on here of his lack of commitment...... I feel you may have been led into following the mob in some respect.

I can see your not that type and to be objective about this situation of whats happened this year and the staining of his legacy with Parra is probably something you would not normally do.

It is very easy to follow a mob mentality, I have done it, most of us have......when you think of mobs in movies and tV shows, they usually quieten down with tails between their legs looking sheepish.

Don't worry mate we need more on here like you, we all have a few warts. Many on here would not be brave enough to make your post.
