I'd be the first to admit that I wanted us to sign him when the Warriors showed him the door. Many agreed, most didn't think he was what we needed.
The "nays" seem to have it though us he's been far from his best which made him at one time one of the top 5 halves in the world.
The Sharks are 3/9 with him in the team and some are asking for his head already. Is he being made the scapegoat for a team that was expected to make the top 4?
What worries me is that his game is similar to that of Mitch Moses meaning he is/was a better runner of the ball than an actual playmaker who could command his troops around the park to set up killer plays.
Do you think he's just not adjusted to the Sharks or has he had his day?
He was one of my favorite players to watch as neutral. He's a barely a shell of the player that once was.

The dominant half needs to be able to make the right choices throughout and be able to nail the critical moments and manege his team. Much more important than flashy plays. Never wanted him because under him the warriors always underperformed
The pre 2014 SJ was a great decision maker, or at least showed that he was on the right track to becoming one, but he's just so passive these days.
I remember in WC Quarter final against Fiji he didn't get tackled until the 69th minute.
Reminds me a bit of Benji Marshall, lost a bit of speed and became stale from there.
When he won the golden boot way back when, from memory it was 2014, he was close to the best in the world and the game was his to rule. Then he broke his ankle and has just never been the same player.
I don't know what it is, but he's just become so passive, he almost never gets tackled anymore. With his footwork he should be carving teams up.
Sad waste of natural talent.
Lol Brett . Did we copy each other lol
Haha. I think a lot of people will have the same opinion !!!
But it does illustrate how badly he's regressed, doesn't it ?
Yes it does however as always before his demeanor portrays the same confident supremo look each time when he steps out on the field .
Apparently, though I didn't watch the game yesterday, he only ran the ball to engage the defence on only 2 occasions for something like 7-8 metres.
I agree his footwork back the day was awesome and would pretty much sit any defender on his arse with a shimmy and step having them grasping at straws and thin air. We've seen very little of this, this year and who knows if we'll see it again. Sharks are pretty fucked though if he doesn't come good because he's on 1 mil p/a for a couple more years I think.
There was one time he ran the ball yesterday where we saw the smallest glimpse of the old SJ, but that was it. The Sharks have got real issues with SJ & Matt Moylan, neither are contributing a thing, and now they've lost Kyle Flanagan to the Chooks for next year.
I stand corrected if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that SJ signed with the Sharks for just the one year.
Just googled it, it was a 3 year deal.
Yes Parra fan . Several years ago ( before he badly fractured his leg ) he was IMO the best player in the game . I have not noticed he was the same after his return. He could be the old SJ sone games but not consistent. Since moving to the Sharks he has not been their shining knight .
