We were given no space, they were given space and time with the ball. We tried to slow them down and the ref got pedantic (a nice way of putting it without blue and gold goggles on). In thise circumstances we had zero chance and it showed.
Most teams get flogged when a game flows in direction. But some don't. Look at the dragons against the dogs. Great fight from a team against the refs.

Yes we were gassed because of shit refereeing particularly 6 agains and sin bins and HIA. And anyone who's ever played any version of rugby league will tell you, once you're gassed, and the opposition is not, the game can get very ugly. That's precisely what happened last night.
Yes they'll come back and win games but unfortunately the damage is well and truly done now. You can't be a serious team in the NRL with a -48 differential after round 1. The NRL simply doesn't work that way. Even if we manage to string a few wins together we'll struggle to wipe out that deficit. You can't play finals with a negative points differential and even if you do manage to scrape in there you'll be gone after week 1. That's the very best we can hope for. After 1 fucking round we're basically cooked. What a fucking disaster.
I blame the new coaches shirts. They suck
