Dangerous Throw

I hate going back on Jr Paulo's suspension. He got 9 weeks, we cop it and move on. But again, I am absolutely outraged at the inconsistency of the NRL and their match review committee! This week, 3 players were charged with a dangerous throw. Ben Barba, Korbin Sims TWICE and Pat Richards and are looking at two weeks each. That's three dangerous throw charges with a total of 6 weeks! Still one week less then Juniors initial suspension. It's absolutely pathetic and it's no wonder the NRL is losing fans. Until they sort their shit out, the NRL will forever be the laughing stock of professional sports in Australia!

  • Pat Richards put Inglis in a much worse position. Paulo just happens to be stronger and the contact with the ground was harder. There's no way Paulo's was worth so many weeks.
  • It's not old news because the charges were just announced. My point isn't about Jr Paulo, it's about the incompetence of the NRL and the MRC.

    • Jnr given five weeks. the extra four weeks were loading.

    • Even still.. 5 weeks. Still no consistency.
  • Jr. is still suspended and we have no one to replace him.... how is this old news and no longer relevant?

  • It's a farce.
I'm just sick of the refs and the judiciary.
9 weeks for his and Inglis gets dropped on his noggin and Richards gets 2 weeks. Unbelievable.
  • AMEN. Hence the reason this topic was brought up. I will keep whinging until the NRL shows some fu#king CONSISTENCY!
  • I don't agree with 9 weeks for junior, max should have been 3-4. But Richards tackle is soft, inglis pretty much dives on his own head deserves a week at the most
    • I agree to some extent, and I'm not saying that tackle deserves 7+ weeks. There was no intent, it was momentum, Richards isn't a dirty player. He realised he put Inglis in a dangerous position and eased his landing to prevent injury. In saying that, my point is, if the NRL is content on rubbing out dangerous throws to prevent serious neck and spinal injuries, they should be consistent with their punishments. Can't have one rule for one and one rule for another. If they want to get the tackle out of the game, then come down hard on EVERYONE. Because all they are doing is showing uncertainty when it comes to their so called "rules". It's confusing everyone including players. If they are consistent, at least everyone knows the rule and there is no need to question them.
    • I agree that the system is wrong. Each case should be individual, do away with carry over points. The main reason the Richard tackle has been light is because ingless has a foot on the ground at all times like the thurston tackle last week
