With the news the cowboys are looking to sign ramien and katoa, how can it be that every club is looking to, and actually executing signings and the eels have zero. I just can't for the life of me understand what's going on.
Is it a case we have a few in the pipeline, or we plan to go big after 30 November? I'm starting to be genuinely concerned about what next year will look for an already weak eels roster?

Ramien and katoa ain't going there to be back ups. Katoa replacing tuilagi who will join the chooks. Ramien to replace purdue who will be the cows fullback in 27

Look, a lot will be known by season end for me; like a few I am concerned we have not signed anyone of note yet, besides Sua, and with aging leaders too (Moses and Paulo) we need to see what is happening for the future.
I have mentioned before we need a pack mongrel leader and I cannot see it at the moment and we need more than Sua; with reports Walker and probably JDB looking elsewhere we need a Yeo type player to come in with some experience with a few more for me.
Five eight also needs to be looked at along with a good back up for Moses, and outside backs too. Surely the club has some guys they are talking with.
Oh, I forgot Jack Williams also being linked with PNG.
There is plenty of quality players able to negotiate on November 1st. The new teams and new broadcast deal being negotiated mean the really good players and agents held off on signing as values will go up. I know Parra like every other club have enquired with some managers on different players to gauge interest and see what the asking price is for some players. We need that forward leader to bring some mongrel to the pack but will have to pay overs.
We may pick up a couple decent players as clubs clear room for the best off contract players but that is where we are as a club. We don't offer a great location lifestyle or a good chance of a premiership which the best players choose when offered similar or even a little less money.
If Parra is confident of bringing through young players and playing the long game, changing the culture from players bleeding the club for every dollar vs players who love the club people shouldn't expect a Big Name signing as management have shown they won't break the bank or add extra years or get clauses to get the deal done
It will be a messy off season with some clubs like Roosters, Dogs and Souths offloading decent players to bring in a star player or manage their salary cap. Many managers already have an idea of where some players will sign come Nov 1 and which players some teams will be looking to offload to free up cap space.
