I was going to stay out of the COVID discussions on this site as there are so many voices -some of which are on message.
I am a doctor at a hospital in Sydney and we've had our first COVID deaths. That's been in the news so it's public knowledge. It is an understatement to say don't look forward to going to work as much as I used to but I know that eventually things will get better.
The points I'd like to emphasise is that this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better and we need to adapt and modify our behaviour as a matter of routine.
The simple things we must all do have been spelt out time and time again. Wash your hands often. Wash your hands as you come into your own home and insist everybody else does as well. Avoid unnecessary touching of surfaces.
Practice social distancing. You all know what that means and it's probably the single most important way to interrupt transmission. Stay away from close contact as much as possible. Avoid crowds. Keep your distance from individuals.
Have meticulous cough and sneeze hygiene.
I have posted a paper that outlines all the other things we can all easily do. The check boxes are worth printing out adn sharing.
It wouldn't hurt to be nice to each other either as there are a lot of stressed people around.
Thank goodness NRL is such a great television spectacle. Go Parra this arvo. I shall be watching from my lounge room wearing my jersey and waving my flag
