Club has really aimed for the stars

Parramatta keen on Cowboys forward

Parramatta have identified North Queensland forward Harrison Edwards as a potential immediate signing in a bid to help alleviate the club’s debilitating injury toll.

The Eels have signed Maroons forward Jaydn Su’A to a three-year contract that begins next year, but are hopeful he may be able to make an immediate switch. It remains to be seen whether the Dragons are prepared to release Su’A, who is currently suspended.

Edwards has made 54 first-grade appearances in an NRL career that began at Canterbury and is looking at his best option to add to that number. Given team lists are announced on Tuesday afternoon, the Prime Ministers’ XIII representative is unlikely to secure a release in time to be considered for a debut against his former club.

  • May I ask, who would you rather us sign at this time of the season with 2 new clubs in the market? I would love to see names that we can get for this year.

What I will say is Edwards can play Hooker too, so could be a back-up option. In that case it might not be too bad as thought if Smith is out long term as if we lose Da Silva too wait for people to complain that we sign nobody.

    • Harrison Edwards is just about the biggest plodder in the NRL. Mataele had two good games and got dropped, we aren't even playing Teancum Brown.

I get it if he's playing hooker.

      • Your last part just showed his value even if he is a plodder, which I agree with. But the fact he can play Hooker somewhat makes him valuable to us this year.

  • MON and Co only aim for the highest and best quality players in an attempt to break a 40 year premiership drought. 'Only the best will do' is their motto as well as appreciating their dismal salary and superannuation

  • I mean, we need a guy right now that a club would be happy to release.

    • And another Hooker with some NRL experience.

  • If the Spencer rumours are true why not go all in for him ? Then all we need is a couple of outside backs and we are done.

    • Spencer is going to PNG

    • If the rumours are true Spencer's agents would of reached out to the good teams first otherwise they are not doing their jobs.

You have to ask why type of player would want to leave to come to us? A player desperate for a chance and and opportunity.
