First off, let me start by saying I couldn't really care less about Zac leaving. There's enough red flags about decsions he's made off field and on it to show he might not be the full package. Being 1 year into a 4 year deal and letting this crap totally derail his form the back end of his first year should tell you all you need to know about how committed Zac is to fully maximising his own value and potential to a team. Some fully buy in , some don't - its their career end of the day who are we to argue. The job for us as a club is to recruit the right type of character and person to represent our club and respect the organisation, people in the organisation, fans / members etc.. which is what I feel Ryles has been making a priority since he came here. I don't think Zac ever arrives at our club in the first place if Ryles made that decsion. Shane Flannagan didn't rate him and it appears Ryles doesn't either. That being said, his skill set is going to need to be replaced.
That aside, let's get to Clinton Schifcofske. One must wonder how he could be still welcome in this sport by 9am Monday.
He was welcomed back after his drug ban as a player, and he's code hopped during his career to now earn a living as a player manager and rugby league commentator post career . Rugby League has been great to him. But there's no coincidence the players he managers are the ones being linked to this R360 rubbish. He's fully bought into it early and he's taken his players to discuss their futures with it. Rugby Union has tried to totally distance itself from R360 and nations have banded together. Rugby League is trying to do the same. Then this dingbat is taking every one he can in to try and fill his own pockets.
The argument is that its hard to say no to that sort of money and its life changing. Sure, it is. But Zac should never have been shopped to them less than a year into a 4 year deal in the first place. I find it hard to believe they head hunted all Clintons players and Zac was highest on their priority list of all players in the comp. Stephen Crichton is a better, higher IQ version of Zac and he re-signed with Canterbury and hasn't been linked at all. There's a reason why he's had ultimate success as a player, is maximising his potential and having a club built around him. And there's also a reason why Zac underachived in his league career , never fulfilled his potential and aside from an Origin series never had much success.
Clinton Schifcofske can be argued to be doing his job as a manager but shopping guys on contract to rival codes is treating all in Rugby League with contempt. It's just like he did the Crushers when he decided to get on the gear. Hopefully, he's out of the game ASAP, and I would love if he loses his commentary gigs on top of it. Ordinary stuff, Clinton.

Thanks Ben, great posts? maybe? but questions not answered......Bluey maybe right....we should shoot them all.....but who do we end up with then? Chiefy is the standout....he has made the stupidist comment yet....that gives him a walk up to go on the R&R.....LOL
PS If we can get Bluey and me on that R&R then I am sure I can convince Bluey to see my side (lol). Chiefy would not be a worry, he would be made to drink "hemlock" or be hung out to dry.
I'm not sure who to clean up first....but they have not met "autocracy" untill I walk in. This Emporer may have no clothes on, but I will make sure no other bastard is wearing any either. LOL
Hey Pops,
I know how you feel, you don't want to go in all guns blazing but don't think Bluey does either (won't speak for him)?
It may be a case of no one needing to be replaced, Pops? Maybe we just need an addition, someone who's skillsets really align in selling, pitching, that aura - & signing athletes. Maybe its education, maybe its our processors, maybe we are too robotoic (emails etc).
Who knows, but you said perfectly yourself Popsical, we are missing 'something'?
The next few months might tell us? Something feels different this time, feel there might be a decent signing incoming.
NOS, I agree we need something and contrary to what I read on TCT, I think the the team morale underneath the surface will be effected.
If we did have someone on a short leash, I wonder if this situation may become a deterent for that last dotting of a contract.
R360 dealt major blow as Papenhuyzen and Lomax’s agent bails on talks
“I won’t be having anything to do with R360 moving forward.”
R360 has just been dealt a major blow in its NRL recruitment hopes.
Leading player agent Clinton Schifcofske, who manages Ryan Papenhuyzen and Zac Lomax, has officially walked away from negotiations with rebel rugby competition R360, distancing himself from speculation that he was steering NRL stars toward the breakaway code.
The move comes after ARL Commission chairman Peter V'landys announced 10-year bans for any players or agents found to be formally aligned with R360, prompting Schifcofske to withdraw from all talks.
“I won't be having anything to do with R360 moving forward,” Schifcofske told Code Sports.
“There's a 10-year ban in place for agents who take players to R360, and I don't want to do the wrong thing and cop that.
“I'm absolutely respectful of the NRL's position.”
Schifcofske has pulled to plug with all ties to R360, as to has Hass. As some officials within the R360 have started, they don't think it's going to get off the ground, where does this leave R360? Paps & Lomax ain't going now what happens to them? Let's max hasn't really disturbed our season, I would welcome him back & bring him to training as soon as his ready.
well seeing as they haven't offically joined R360 they can return to the NRL or try union.
Or the NRL refuse to register contracts for them. They were prepared to shit on the NRL at the first sign of something they deemed to be better, for their own financial gain, knowing the risks... and I'd question whether the players have really done their proper due diligence on the legitimacy of R360.
Sounds like Lomax wants out of the club regardless. I can't see him grovelling back, but he will need to sit out any game against Parra for the next few years. Will be interesting to see where this lands.
Would'nt want him back tbh.
He can't just sit out games against Parramatta. He can't sign for any other NRL club until 2028. If R360 fails to get up, Lomax and Papenhuizen are screwed.
