CHAD Robinson’s former NRL clubs Parramatta and the Sydney Roosters have rallied around his family following the former rugby league player’s tragic death last month.
The clubs have established an education fund to help Robinson’s two children Kiara and Cooper with their schooling.
The Eels and Roosters have united in their efforts to help the Robinson family and will work together on specific fundraising and awareness efforts in the lead-up to their round 10 game.
Ex-teammate and Eels under-20s coach Luke Burt said it was important the rugby league community supported the Robinson family.
“Chad was a good friend to many of us and we want to make sure Kiara and Cooper know they have a wider family who want to help and support them,” Burt said.
Robinson’s funeral will take place at Parramatta Marist High School on Tuesday from 10am.
The 36-year-old former NRL player’s body was found in Kenthurst weeks after going missing.
Roosters board member and former teammate Luke Ricketson welcomed the chance to help in the establishment of an education fund for Chad’s children, Kiara, 15, and Cooper, 10, who attend school in the Hills District.
“The loss of Chad has certainly been felt by everyone at the Roosters and Eels, as well as the broader rugby league community, and this is one small way we can help his family, especially Kiara and Cooper, at this very difficult time,” Ricketson said.
