Can we make the 8?

10 games to go. Need a minimum of 6 wins to have a chance. 7 would defo put us in the 8.

Apart from the Top 4 who are 6 points clear from the rest everyone, apart from the Titans has a chance of making the 8.

I'm gonna be super optimistic and find 6 wins.

Round 17: Dragons (W)

Round 18: Bye

Round 19: Penrith (W)

Round 20: Canberra

Round 21: Broncos

Round 22: Storm

Round 23: Cowboys (W)

Round 24: Souths (W)

Round 25: Roosters (W)

Round 26: Warriors

Round 27: Knights (W)

That and the top 4 to just continue beating everyone under them (apart from us obviously).

My reasoning we have a chance is that ever since Round 7 when we beat the Tigers, we're either won or been super competitive being in the game until the last 10-15 mins.

Round 8 : Bye

Round 9: Loss vs Sharks 28-18 was only 4 points until 71st min

Round 10: Loss to Dolphins 20-16. Same number of tries. Russell's wayward goal kicking and a bombed try at the death to win it.

Round 13: Loss to Panthers 18-10. 2 points in it until 73rd min.

Round 14: Loss to Dogs 30-12. Was only 6 points in it until 7 mins.

We are also 5-5 after Round 4 which is Top 8 Form

  • I reckon we are a sneaky chance, though think we need a couple of more wins than u stated

  • I really hope we make the 8 - even though I don't think we have the depth not make GF. But christ it will give the club and players great belief in 26.. If JR can get a couple signings - look out - PARRA is back!!

    • GF is unicorn stuff, getting close to the 8 would be huge considering the rebuild

  • Mathematically ...yes!

    In reality ...maybe, but unlikely.

We need to get and keep our best team on the park to have any chance. The next month will tell us if we are a chance.

  • No the Eels won't. Maybe next year

  • Not confident we will beat the Dragons or the Roosters.

But as long as we are competitive, and start to get active in the player market. Couple of forwards and a attacking 6 and next year were up there.

  • If Moses and Lomax had been fully healthy to start the season, good chance we would have made the 8 but started way behind the pack and it would be unlikely at this point. Main goal is to play as well as they can each game and build into next season

  • Not a chance in hell.

I have more chance of winning Powerball three weeks in a row.

  • Unfortunately we have too many injuries/suspensions, our side this week is dreadful.

i don't know how Penrith always have the lowest injury toll of any team and they always seem to recover quicker

  • I think we'll just miss out with our run of bad luck this year. Panthers, Roosters, and Bunnies aren't teams we often beat, so adding those 3 games in means we'll just miss out. I predict we'll win one of those matches.

Our goal needs to be clear of the bottom 4 and nudging the top 8

This year was a tough one when you consider the amount of injuries we've had to key players and compounding that with the fact we're beginning a rebuild with a new coach at the helm. It was always going to be tough.

I have no doubts we'll be in the 8 next year, but we need to land a couple of good signings at prop, 5/8, and center. Without those, we'll be in the same spot as this year.
