Can Nathan Peats lead Parra into the future?

Do you think in time this player can captain Parra and lead from the hooker role? Similar to Steve Edge (circa 1980 - 1984). A gutsy hooker in the thick of things who leads by example while having a heavy workload.

  • I like Peats' dedication and can see him leading Parra. He is a Captain material
  • Peats is the man for the job. I was wondering how they were going to take the job from Hayne, don't need to worry about that anymore.
  • I think this is a no brainer - he has all the traits of a leader. He is tough, leads by example and has huge desire to win at all costs.

  • Peats for sure, Mannah is a follower not a leader.

  • I much as I don't rate Mannah as a captain, I just don't see the club taking the C from him next year...mind you I would love to be proven wrong on this point.

    • i never thought Jarryd Hayne would turn his back on Rugby League but he did, so stranger things have happened.

Now Mannah's co-captain is gone, BA has to nominate someone that plays for 80mins. PEATS is the man

  • You'd need to know the player personally before you could determine if they are Captain material. Their personal qualities dictate leadership not merely on-field actions. Therefore I can't comment on this blog.

    • Why comment at all then?
    • Mutt thats not exactly correct.

Sometimes people with great qualities off the park dont translate into a good on field leader, look at mannah as a prime example.

The best way to judge a good captain is by seeing how they handle the role on the park, its actually rthe only real way to judge somebody as a captain.

You dont need to know a player personally to judge if they are a good captain, thats a crazy statement mutt, you just watch em on the park, thats how you tell if they are a good captain mate

  • Reckon Peats has shown enough to say he would be a great captain..

As he says he was playing busted from the from the start of the year, and don't think anyone noticed.

    Love his determination and guts.

As a player much like Hindy, I can't think of a moment he was out there wishing he would pull his finger out.

The will to win is strong in this one.

"I think you need to re-look at the start of the game; Brisbane had the majority of the ball in the first 20 min let alone first half, and when we got a shot at them, we scored. The game was one of the fastest I have seen and we did well to hang in…"
