"Maybe. Smith looks smaller, probably 15kg lighter, while google tells me they're similar heights. I like what Smith offers in energy and between the ears, leadership material, and I'd say he might end up reading the game better than some here…"
"spoiler alert, this might be a clue."

If ever their was a game with match fixing then this match would be the prime suspect with daylight a clear second.
Altough betting during a match mightn't have been around back then but with parra up 18-2 with 11 mins remaining and a grand final appearance for the victor and the fact parra dominated with canterbury unable to threaten and not from a lack of trying in the first 70 mins.
What happened after that would have been buckleys just at the thought of what transpired. The best description of parra's destruction on this fateful day would be like superman taking a dosage of cryptonite.
I can still feel the sting of that game. Like others above I was there. You could feel the tide had turned a few moments after we started singing "Bring on the Brocos" in a parra strong section of the crowd. Not long after the Dogs scored and a bulldogs supporter in front of me turned around and grinned a shit-eating grin, I knew we were gone.
Still hurts
Yep, I remember being there and singing that.
It was fucking surreal, like some evil fug had descended upon the stadium and turned all of our dreams to ashes. Indescribable really, you had to be there.
Motherfuck.
