  • OK I'll bite.  Just for one moment imagine if the two rumours that have emerged over the past week come true.  Spenser and Burton would make us a real threat in 2027 and if we could jag Herbie in the centres....well!  My juices will flow once again.  Sorry about the mental picture...

    • Only way you get Herbie to Parra is offering him Fullback to be fair and we ain't doing that.

  • Big yes for me. It has been doing the rounds on the Kennel, social media and Hooper is talking about it. While all these things don't mean anything. The fact its being reported in all different parts of social media hopefully means there are some legs to it. Plus Gus just came out and said Galvin isn't a halfback.

While Burton isn't elite he is a very good player who can play multiple positions. I think he is a big enough name that could help attract some other talent to Parra. Start at 5/8 and if Renzo is killing it in cup, burton to centre and Lorenzo to 5/8. If he becomes available I think we need to take this risk and offer him decent coin. He's still only 26.

  • No thanks. Unless he takes a pay cut and comes over as a centre.

  • Yes please, 2 bigs boots with he and moses and can cover a multitude of positions if needed with his size

  • I'd prefer Galvin ahead of Burton but I guess we've already been down that road. Gus has certainly changed his tune on the wonder kid of late

    • Galvin as a 6 I would take in a heartbeat. We better be regularly sliding into his DMs reminding him how easy it was for him to get out of his Tigers contract...and if you can do it once...

  • I don't get the love for Burton.

No one has really figured out to use his skills in a way that makes him as valuable as everyone expects him to be (and what he'd expect his pay packet to be).

He's a talented footy player who's hype over the years has meant his value is out of whack because his market price is greater than his worth to the team.

    • I was thinking tonight watching the game, take away Burton's kicking and what else do you have? He's still a good player, but his best years are behind him without a doubt. I'd still take him for 2-3 years at 6 transitioning to centre.

      • And as soon as Centre is brought up he requests a release.

A Moses / Burton halves combination should work well. Burton for 2 or 3 years on a contract similar to or below the reported  $875,000 per season he is currently on. "

"Burton goes alright. He's not the most gifted ball player or creative player but he has a good running game, good defender, and a very good kicking. Next to Moses and Iongi he will play his role well. Just need a decent back rower and centre outside…"

"The only people we need to sign from the dogs are.
1. Jack Underhill - what a beast of a player and so young. Will be a origin prop.
2. Xerrie - is the most dangerous left side centre we could get for 2027, if he goes to market will be an excellent…"
