Parramatta are facing a battle to keep boom rookie Apa Twidle.
Sport Confidential can reveal Twidle has attracted interest from three NRL rivals in the wake of his stunning two-try debut against the Wests Tigers on Easter Monday.
Twidle’s management has fielded an inquiry from Phil Gould’s Bulldogs and the Dolphins, while Mal Meninga’s Perth Bears are also watching the young gun closely.
Twidle is off-contract at season’s end and has been offered a development deal by the Eels for 2027.
But the Eels may have to up the ante following Twidle’s brilliant baptism against the Tigers, which has piqued the interest of NRL suitors.
The 21-year-old Kiwi is one of the most versatile players in the league, capable of playing wing, centre and in the halves.

And Talagi has had a couple of seasons in 1st grade. He cost Penrith at least 2 tries with his missed tackles.
And a place in the GF with his poor defence in their elimination game in last years finals.
It just goes to show that the grind that Parra put on other sides end of last year is the way to beating sides like Panthers, Easts and even Bronco's for that matter.
Our whole defensive structure has been upset with the addition of Pezet, even when Joash was playing 5/8 with DB off the scene we were structurally so much better because Joash gave us line speed as well. Our middle forwards just had to focus and did not need to worry about the holes we have now seen, one weak link.....use Pezet, Talagi as examples and a whole structure can fail.....up till last night Cleary had thrown a cocoon around Talagi and it fell down.....intriguing to see how they addresss it. They reckon an enormous time was spent in the off season correcting Talagi's weaknesses, will they address it head on or drop him?
Opening the field up exposes the Penrith defensive structure pops if you play long fields off a quick play the ball that means the space outwide the gaps are wider between defenders we worked that out when we played them and the other part which I've been a proponent of when BA was here is that both our halves touch the ball in the same attacking movement.
Then you have less issues with obstruction your back rower off of either side can run the big outside in line giving the 2nd receiver better reads and not having issues of running into defenders getting through the line.
Basically by attacking off wider fields your working over defenses the whole line not just certain parts off it.I never understood attacking and setting up off left or right posts in attacking sets yet every team in the nrl does it's mad.

Yes, with the right 5/8 choice we could be much better than we currently think we are....I know that Connor Watson would not suit our long term plans, but if he was playing 5/8 his defence would be invaluable and his link play exactly what you need i.e. he would go deep into the line. Finally it would take an enormous defence load off Moses, who has been carrying the whole backline in cover.
I said in another post the fact that we picked up Dyllan Walker in a similar situation and maybe Connor Watson is answer to our current woes vis a vis our future short term plans. Don't get lost on this because we still need a foundation to get some of these young kids through.
PS Watson would be a much better back up half than Pezet and can also play hooker and finally, he knows how to "rev" a side up. With him on the field you can have your hooker and 3 forwards, with no need for a utility, arguably need for only one back in the 19.
If Walker moves on or retires, not sure why he would, Watson would be perfect replacement.

If he is not retained that'll be the nail in the coffin for any hope under this administration.
If not they've learnt and grown and that'd be exciting
I don't think twiddle is a boom rookie. Got talent and is a class players at times but I can't see him landing a full time gig in the halves or fb for us
