Just Our Luck

We get Bulldogs as soon as they hit form with Leo Thompson returning. Knowing our luck we have 3 more injuries after the Titans.

        • I'd have To'o of course but if Trell and Critta are Centres would Turbo look out of place on the Wing? Kiraz I feel as well would handle Origin.

          • I would have Trell and Critt as the centres. To'o and Turbo on the wing. I really love Koula too holy shit. He is my smokey.

    • I thought the dogs were fit enough and aggressive enough to go after Penrith. Their line speed put pressure on the Penrith attack and the Dogs had the type of aggressive back rowers to really test Penrith's young kids out wide. That's what we lack, the physicality, the mongrel and fitness to do it over 70-80 mins. Our roster is not physically capable.

What good is the world's most expensive Centre of Excellence if it isn't being used to flog our players.

...or perhaps our recruitment is just all wrong. With the speed of the game and more skill being taken out of it, perhaps clubs need to start looking for athletes that can compete for 80 mins. Do what the NFL does with all their fitness testing. Identify athletes that have a higher ceiling. Other aspects of football can be coached and having a few onfield 'generals' to move them around like chess players.
      But what would I know....

  • surely Thompson will be under done after a length stint on the side lines.

  • Panthers did beat themselves. 65% completion, a sin bin and a bunch of penalties/ late set restarts.

in saying that, dogs are the only team that come close to Penrith in regards to fitness so it makes sense that they were able to keep up. I still don't think they have the class/skill to be a genuine title conteder despite the win

  • Max King will miss a month with broken jaw. That's a loss so they get Thompson but lose King.

  • Who said Thompson is returning? His listed to be back in rd10 I doubt he comes back 1 month early

  • I thought the bulldogs got the rub of the green from the refs. So many six agains and yet they were allowed to be offside at will.

my favourite moment was when one of the panthers ran a ball back from I goal and dived into the field of play onto the ground on,y to be tackled and pushed back in goal. A penalty every day of the week but no it was allowed and panthers had to take a drop out from which the dogs scored. Blatant referee manipulation.

"Tuivaiti's not allowed to negotiate with rivals until after the season ends, in November. Twidle is not an 'obvious great talent' at all. He is a fast, skinny dude like so many reserve graders."

"The interest in him from other clubs can be a good thing for Parra. If he is seen as behind Iongi and Papalii, then he could be a good bargaining chip for a strike centre like Xerri, Tago or another centre or 5/8 out there that we desperately need "
