Brian Kelly Extends with Parramatta Eels
The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce Brian Kelly has extended his contract with the Club, keeping him in Blue and Gold until the end of 2028.
The 2026 season was another significant chapter in Kelly's career, with the talented outside back celebrating his 200-game NRL milestone and earning recognition for his performance as the dual recipient of the Ken Thornett Medal, awarded to the Club's Best and Fairest players.
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O'Neill said Kelly's extension was a testament to the value he brings to the team.
"Brian has been a wonderful addition to our team since arriving at the Club. He had a slow start to the season with a few niggling injuries, but his hard work and determination saw him overcome these challenges and play some of his best football. He topped our total running metres and showed tremendous instincts and skill with some of his performances."
"His professional approach set a great example for our younger players, and being recognised as a dual Ken Thornett Medalist this year reflects the respect he has earned throughout the Club. We're pleased that he'll continue his journey with the Eels," said O’Neill
A proud Bundjalung man, Kelly's representative honours include selection for the Indigenous All Stars and Australian Prime Minister’s XIII.

Suprised but also not. I thought after 2027 we might move on, though after his 2026 season, he showed he can be a really good Winger. So adding an extra year i feel is fine. Even if we do find someone better he is a handy back-up in this part of his career. Turns 31 next year so still has a couple of good years in him.
Moving to Wing made him i believe. But i do also wonder if this indicates our position on JAC moving forward?
He's earned it. I think at start of season if you listed Brian Kelly JAC and simmonson and asked who you expected to be our most impactful winger no one would have said Kelly. We just really need at least one more metre eating outside back.
He has earned it and its good he's only signed till 28; we also need guys who have played 200 plus games
And to think he was knocking on the door of SL had we not reached out.
May not be a bad move assuming he's not on big money.
Beggars can't be choosers!
Our best back, well deserved.
I like this.
BK continually surprised me with his output in an ordinary year for the team, however this could be more about The Fox and the limited available options out there.
