Both Tuivaiti and Tuilagi out, who replaces them?

What was our strongest part of our team is now getting slimmer. With Tuilagi and Tuivaiti out, who do we see coming in for the week?

More likely we see Williams stay in the middle and Guymer moves to an edge. Then the two bench spots for Tuivaiti and Guymer would more likely be taken up by de Belin and Brown. Not sure if someone like Jezaiah Funa-Iuta will be ready either.

So Russell for Nanva is one change. De Belin will get Tuivaiti's spot more likely. So who replaces Tuilagi?

      • I know he said ruin their development but I would be going with Lorenzo as realistically from around 8 only Iongi is the only big name to come back. So not like waiting for a host of returns.

Oh and Samrani would be in the 19 too.

      • Name someone else in the bench if you start with Guymer. Can't pick him twice.

        • Oops meant to be Brown on bench

  • Probably only Moses, JAC and Williams would make starting side for other teams right now and Williams isn't in good form.  I would say Russell as well but he didn't play today. A couple others may get a bench spot or play due to injuries but wouldn't attract much attention if they signed with another club.

Whoever we bring in is coming into a struggling team so I don't see them making much of an impact.  When players step into a quality team like Panthers or Storm of previous years they can look like a superstar but young players are easily exposed in sides that are struggling.  We need some mid season signings urgently.  If Sua hasn't backflipped on us, throw everything we have to get him here this year.  We need experienced players and a workhorse prop and 2nd rower.  England may be an option to explore as I would prefer experience over exposing our juniors, destroy their confidence and exposing them to fan criticism.

I think some of the blame towards Ryles and some of our players is misplaced.  We have struggled as a club to attract talent for many years and Ryles seemed to have had a plan for signings which the front office couldn't deliver.  He made a massive clean of what he could but players like Matto not wanting to leave and other contract lengths left us with a number of average players.

The new rules and interpretations have resulted in a momentum based game where any mistake or lazy play can see a game slip out of reach.  Then when chasing points, more errors are made and it snowballs.  Look at the ladder and and look at teams with 6-8 rep quality players struggling with a handful of wins

It is going to destroy a lot of young player and coaches careers when fans and clubs place blame while looking for a quick fix as we are seeing in this site and others.

  • Add to that kit kat knee and junior knee. So not a lot to look forward to next week.
