BEST RUGBY LEAGUE KNUCKLERS - PAST AND PRESENT

Having just read Ron's blog about the RL Fight Night it got me thinking about who I would like to see in the ring and what peoples opinion's are on who is the best fighter in the NRL. I know it's a bit hard to tell these days seeing as throwing a punch is forbidden but give it a go. Personally I would like to see Manu have a crack, but I doubt you could get anyone to fight him

  • Solomon Haumono, Mark Carroll, Les Davidson for a starter.

  • Steve Bowden and Mark Broadhurst

    • Bowden smashed him EE.  Did u see Broadhirsts face after the game by chance?? For a boxer he got a whipping that he would have felt for months after!

      • A couple of head butts does the trick.

  • Most RL players are brawlers rather than fighters  but in order to respond ...

Check for video of the following

Steve Bowden or maybe Mark Broadhurst was just poor.

Also, Bob Cooper, Noel Kelly, John Donnelly, Lurch O'Neill, Chris Close, Hoppa Snr, Les Boyd, Greg Dowling ...hell anyone really pre 2014

  • Ian Roberts could throw a vicious uppercut, ask Gary Jack.

David Gillespie, John Hoppa, Mark Geyer

    • Yeah Ian Roberts liked a good knuckle, elbow deep.
    • In relation to David Gillespie ! Correct me if I am wrong ... Didn't Sterlo throw one at him and cop it back with interest ?

      • Was that Les Davidson in a brawl between Souths and Parra at Parra Stadium?  I know Leabeater and Davidson went at each other that day.

His injuries have been unlucky but he's at the prime age in his career. He should be playing in as many big games as possible and each time he does its a reflection of our clubs ability to send out quality rep players. It's up…"
