Former NRL superstar and Dally M Medal winner Ben Barba is back in court on assault charges.

Barba is due to face a Queensland court on Thursday, but the details of the allegation remain unclear.

The 31-year-old will appear at Mackay Local Court following his arrest and charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

"Kiraz did not train due to load management. He has been cramping up late in games of late playing fullback. His name has been linked to Origin too, so I doubt he misses the game on Monday. I see Tracey playing fullback and Kiraz slotting into centre…"
