Former NRL superstar and Dally M Medal winner Ben Barba is back in court on assault charges.

Barba is due to face a Queensland court on Thursday, but the details of the allegation remain unclear.

The 31-year-old will appear at Mackay Local Court following his arrest and charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

"I just don't want Ryles to be the fuse, because as much as I wanted ba out, those above washed their hands with him, and made him totally accountable for the demise of the entire club and thats all im going to say about this subject for a while…"
