Former NRL superstar and Dally M Medal winner Ben Barba is back in court on assault charges.

Barba is due to face a Queensland court on Thursday, but the details of the allegation remain unclear.

The 31-year-old will appear at Mackay Local Court following his arrest and charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
