He looks to be clearing the decks and going strictly with either youth or quality, kind of like the SuperCoach strategy of either Guns or Rookies. I like Simmo and get your point about heart, and I agree. But it looks like Ryles wants young talent with high ceilings without a injury history list, or class players. Simmo was becoming a serious injury risk and was never going to be a rep player. He's also not quite a gun center or a gun winger, he's a reliable back up.
So I can see Ryle's strategy here, and it deserves a chance.
Can I just say, I understand people / fans buy into their teams players, i get that. But on the same token, Bailey Simmonsson is a basic first grader that isn't going to win you games too often. Steady, does a job for sure, but a strike weapon, a strike centre or winger he is not. Good luck to him and thankyou for your service. Lets buy some real talented players that can win premierships, not just compete for the bottom 8.
"I would actually like to see BA land at Newcastle, I think he suits the team and the people, a hard nosed no nonsense worker who puts up a fight, might be just the type of coach they need right now. AOB just sounds like a gronk. He needs someone…"
"Unfortunately outside backs is easily our weakest spot in the junior grades. Richie (20) is there and than Araz Nanva (21) has been having a good year. Alamadine (20) development has stalled this year. The next good outside backs are only 18 and…"
"I really hope we reconsider Lomax as a centre. He can sit up his winger with his ability to offload with multiple players in the tackle. He has that strike to beat a defender with his right foot step and strength. Obviously got to tell him to…"
"I think it's pretty obvious the eels need to shed a player or 2 to get a one or 2 big signings over the line. Simo is great and I love him but he does have an error in him and so bad defensive reads "

Nor will they, is my belief....

I don't think this is a Ryles choice. He gave Bailey 3 years in November despite just coming back from an ACL. It's a Bailey decision.
I don't think this is because he's not playing. he's just come back from Injury and has been playing all the time when fit this year.
Bailey wants to move. Either been offered better money elsewhere or wants back to NZ
He was one of the better players. Something's afoot
We just signed him as well after his ACL injury, we don't have to give him a release he still has got 2 years left
If he wants to leave I highly doubt Ryles will stand in his way, just another chunk of salary moved
Boooo😔😔
dissapointing . Love Baileys energy and enjoy watching him play for us
💯 We have Brown who is a pay cheque player, and BS who is on peanuts more than likely, , don't understand
