Josh Addo-Carr cleared in roadside test before Eels meeting
Parramatta winger Josh Addo-Carr’s second result from a roadside drugs test has come back negative, just hours before he is scheduled to front the Eels board about his future.
Addo-Carr allegedly tested positive to cocaine at a random police roadside test in September. However, police on Monday informed him that the second test result provided a result for no drugs, meaning there will be no further action from police.
The development comes amid speculation that Addo-Carr was poised to be sacked at Parramatta headquarters tonight, where he is scheduled to address Eels directors.
With players poised to return to pre-season training, the Eels were keen the matter to a head. To that end, Addo-Carr has been to provide his version of events. Now, it appears that a career that appeared over could resume with the blue and golds.
The premiership-winning winger is a popular member of the club on and off the field. Addo-Carr has scored 27 tries since joining Parramatta last year.
Addo-Carr is expected to be accompanied by lawyer Elias Tabchouri and agent Marcel Tartak when he fronts directors this afternoon. The former Storm star was sacked after providing a positive roadside test while employed at Canterbury over a separate incident.
If Addo-Carr had been guilty of a second incident, it would have resulted in an automatic 12-game suspension.
Addo-Carr, who lost a sponsorship deal with automotive firm JAC, spent about a month in a rehabilitation centre to deal with off-field issues.
The Eels were already making contingency plans. They had been in discussions with Melbourne centre Jack Howarth, but have opted to abandon those negotiations. They have also been linked to Penrith’s Blaize Talagi, but if there is to be any pursuit it will be for 2028 due to his Achilles injury.
Newcastle winger James Schiller is a potential signing for 2027, while Bradman Best and Jack Bostock have been linked to the Eels for the following year.

I know odds. And official odds say it's more likely than it's not. Are you disputing your overlord Daz's scientific odds ? , I'd like to hear his thoughts on this testing being wrong as he is very pro science being correct .
Can we have an apprentace professors opinion here ? Ploppa thinks the science and probabilities are wrong ? I invite you to set him straight base on the study .
Bit tough , Having to pick between the science or politics 😂
Not so tough Wizard, nothing as tough as what JAC has gone through.....with regards to Daz, my overlord you call him LOL.... the fact he is a scientist and twice as smart as both of us would have him explaining to you that every scientist is open minded until the proven otherwise....that is what science is, its not a lottery with a one only winner but a series of events that change the result when a better science is established.
I suggest you start watching STAR TALK with Neil de Grasse Tyson to learn a little bit more about what you know fcuk all about.
PS You know odds, whose going to win the Cup tomorrow.....smart arse you know odds, come up with the answer......I will give you a scientific approach....i.e. 24 horses, probably one winner, but there are other possibilities.
Ploppa yes I know odds , however we have vastly different ways of assessing things. The odds I onboard , are the odds that tell me you're about 95% chance of not winning.
Or in my case, 100% . As I'm not the guy that gives two fucks about horse racing. The only way I'll bet is if I end up unplanned at the pub and will do it for a social thing just to say I'm involved. Outside of that , more chance of me forgetting it's even on.
Why are you coping so hard that the Fox is innocent? He was cleared as there is ZERO evidence. Are you trying to come off as a deadhead? If so, it's working.
I am not sure what a "deadhead" is so I cannot say I am trying to come off as one.....I would have thought I was defending his innocence, whereas there would seem to be a lot of non believers.....
Me Russ ? Not really fussed . Our squads stronger with him in it . Not sure what " coping " means , I assume it's some backwards term to describe " not coping " ?
But yeah, if you read between the lines , I have zero issue with him being innocent . It's one for the little guy so to speak. Doesn't mean I have to bury my head in the sand and belive he wasn't driving with Charlie in his system . Or at least been in a bender and had simply moved it through his system just in time. He went to rehab so... dunno are you not coping that Fox got lucky ?
If we keep Addo Carr and sign him on for 28 get Bostock and Best we are on trajectory man. I can feel it.
We are definitely not getting both
We never know Trent, we can never know 🕵️
