Araz Nanva signs Top 30 Contract for 2027

The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce that emerging outside back Araz Nanva has extended his contract with the club for a further year and will be elevated to the Top 30 squad for the 2027 NRL season.

An Eels junior, Nanva’s extension comes on the back of a strong pre-season and his NRL debut last week.

Parramatta Eels GM of Football Mark O'Neill praised Nanva’s development and dedication.

“Araz has worked hard during the pre-season with his attitude and performance and bought in to the Club culture.

“To make his debut in Round 6 was a well-deserved reward, and we’re excited to see how he continues to develop. He’s a talented outside back who understands what it means to represent this club, and we’re pleased to have him locked in for 2027 as part of our Top 30.”

The Eels look forward to supporting Nanva’s continued development as he establishes himself at NRL level.

            • I do wonder if JR plans to do that this year regarding not playing those who are leaving.

              • Gonna have to do that EA. There's a few that'll need blooding this year ready for a big year next. Work out how Lorenzo goes is a big one too. Imo Pezet def should only need to step up when Moses is out injured or soo.
Kelly went better last week on wing but his centre D ain't up to it imo. He'll be one that can step aside. Russel is another moving on and API definitely no more air time for him.

      • Yea larger salary cap and a brand new team. I recon your right

        • Im a bit confused ha per usual, thought he didn't have a contract at all for this year? If contract for next year, whats he on for this ha?

          • He is on a train and trial deal this year which is why he needs an exemption to play.

            • Oh gosh good we got onto him then. So gets an exemption for whole year ? Thanks EA!

              • He only gets an exemption if no other top 30 players are available,  for example Russell is back this week so nanva can't play.

He doesn't go top 30 until next season,  unless they decide to upgrade him for this season before June 30.

                • After round 11, players on train and trial contracts do not need an exemption. So JR can pick Nanva even if players like Kelly and Russel are available for selection.

                  • Thanks to you both!

      • A few players would have an eye on PNG. The money Perth are throwing around makes it attractive to go to PNG for a pay day as they would throw double to nobodies to go there. There is even talk around that players might not get tax break fully. There are issues around it is both PNG government. If the case that will hinder them getting a host of players.
