    • Their middles are ageing. They are heading for a rebuild as the Trbojevic brothers and DCE move on and have money. Difference is they will buy most of the players they want.

MON? Would say "Do you accept bits of string?" As a low ball tactic.

  • 650k a year for a backup hooker who cant tackle. With purchases like these manly are heading for the bottom of the table. What ridiculous money for an untired player. We need a hooker that can transition to lock. That would be ideal.

    • They are definitely paying on potential but their forward stocks are a far bigger issue then the 9 spot. Desperation signing for manly

    • You really think we would sign him to be a back-up Darren? We weren't signing him with the intent of being  a back-up. If we were happy with Smith moving forward we weren't signing him.

We need a Hooker that can play eyes up it seems according to Ryles.

    • Like Lussik? Agree TDS is a high risk signing. 85% tackle efficiency is very poor for a low minutes hooker.

Ryley Smith has regulary played 80 mins as a rookie and is at 93%.

      TDS is not woth $650k.

  • Fuck being favours twice we were twice we miss out on a tiger

We are starting to be a joke as someone said we only get 35 years old players who no one wants

  • What makes you think we missed signing him? Just because the media link us to every off contract player doesn't mean we are actively pursuing them. Even if we did meet with the player, that doesn't mean the club had decided that's the player they want. That's how interviews work.

We don't know the internal dialogue within the club. I'm confident they know the type of players they are looking for, and will only land the players that fit that mould. You don't build a team by buying individuals - that just gets you an incoherent bunch of players.

    • Well put Finny and spot on.

    • I'd say we are linked because much like 6 there glaring holes on the roster.

TDS Sandon Smith and alike are prime candidates to fill them.

The fact that JR has talked to TDS Blaise Talagi Galvin and alike confirms the interest. If we aren't linked then what's the point in JR meeting him I mean it's what it is.

While I agree not all the media say is correct when your HC is interviewing the mentioned we were interested.

    • Can I suggest Longy that what you say at the end is so so true. "You don't build a team by buying individuals - that just gets you an incoherent bunch of players".

The club has been unable to sign players that they have identified first up as fitting their style, players wanted for their pace and skill  in demand players that are converted by other clubs, players that compliment and fit into Ryles vision. These players are the ones we are missing out on. The direct result - we are left purchasing individuals that can fill a hole for a while, or that posess potential unrealised. This surely cannot be good for a team attempting to be better then most.
