          • According to some on here BA ran the show. Id say dink and doink are afraid of Ryles becoming a BA 2.0, they'll try and hold on to as much control as possible. Will that help JR get anywhere? Probably not. He'll be scapegoated to save their own skins

            • I mean look, BA same with Ryles will have final say. De Belin would not have just been thrown onto him but at same time doubt Ryles had him as first choice either. I did believe BA needed to go as he was not getting results from his coaching anymore but at the same time losing the players in 2022 did not help. 2023 MON just threw all these projects at him and it was too much at once. He bought 5-6 projects with only one of them being at the club past 2024, that being Hopgood.

They kept BA as long as possible as they didn't know any better as they had never gone through the process of sacking a coach. Plus came in when BA got them going for some time.

Ryles on the other hand is their hire, if he doesn't work they are under more scrutiny therefore he will be gone sooner if no results.

Some here are saying who cares but when you have so much money in the cap and struggle to sign players it is a concern. PNG might have better luck at this rate. If Ryles kept the likes of RCG, Matto, Lane, Ofahengaue etc and had them see out their deals while still playing and we free up cap as we go and sign a player or two as we develop juniors around the experience then fair not signing players, it would be tedious but fair.

Instead went with getting rid of all the deadwood quick and have money to spend and cannot spend it. If we want to spend it well, we cannot wait we need someone new in ASAP. Issue is that wont happen. I reckon if you ask most GM's would you want up to $4mil in cap space and perhaps $2mil the following year? Most if not all would say that is the dream.

  • Seriously who cares.

    • Going by the 39 comments (I didn't actually count them all) he has made in the space of 2 hours, LB cares deeply. I'm with you CE, couldn't care less.

  • Has this been reported anywhere other than NRL Nostradamus Predictions?

I mean in the comments to their own post, they say the Eels might still a chance lol 🤪

    • To be fair he is usually spot on.

      • Rightio - time will tell i guess

  • Add Luke Garner to the "missed out" list, seems Dragons might have him

    • Only tiny difference is we must of offered less years. I reckon we match Manly for years and close to money with Da Silva.

Garner was probably offered 3 years by Saints and we only offer two that one i am ok with funnily enough. But still a miss nonethless.

  • Love how we now think of a price, we don't budge it rock solid. Let him go to Manly, let be frank Manly are heading for a melt down. Everyone knows it & the kid knows it. But he will get more money at Manly. Lol
