Mate why is everyone complaining about our beloved club. Apparently a rumour is going around that DB is trying to get out of the richest deal in history to stay in blue and gold. Isn’t that something to crow about. Oh wait!
And knowing MON, if its true, DB would most likely be getting an upgrade from the Knights contract with Player options every 6 weeks
Seriously though something that always irks me with this club. Why can all of the fans see that there blatantly is a problem: BA was a problem, BA's nepotism was a problem, different players at times were a problem and now we all agree that MON is a problem but the dopes that run the club can't. They'll drag their feet until we can't attract any new talent before they realise they have to act. Hang on we're already at that point.
Poor JR having to deal with all the fuckwits in the front office. Remember where Jack Gibson said it all starts at and it's a fact that a fish in the sun always rots from the head first.
Hopefully Ryles has the balls to rattle the cages. BA sort of toed the line, Ryles simply needs to do opposite. No point if he is sacked in 4 years after poor performances, if they don't like it so be it.
According to some on here BA ran the show. Id say dink and doink are afraid of Ryles becoming a BA 2.0, they'll try and hold on to as much control as possible. Will that help JR get anywhere? Probably not. He'll be scapegoated to save their own skins
I mean look, BA same with Ryles will have final say. De Belin would not have just been thrown onto him but at same time doubt Ryles had him as first choice either. I did believe BA needed to go as he was not getting results from his coaching anymore but at the same time losing the players in 2022 did not help. 2023 MON just threw all these projects at him and it was too much at once. He bought 5-6 projects with only one of them being at the club past 2024, that being Hopgood.
They kept BA as long as possible as they didn't know any better as they had never gone through the process of sacking a coach. Plus came in when BA got them going for some time.
Ryles on the other hand is their hire, if he doesn't work they are under more scrutiny therefore he will be gone sooner if no results.
Some here are saying who cares but when you have so much money in the cap and struggle to sign players it is a concern. PNG might have better luck at this rate. If Ryles kept the likes of RCG, Matto, Lane, Ofahengaue etc and had them see out their deals while still playing and we free up cap as we go and sign a player or two as we develop juniors around the experience then fair not signing players, it would be tedious but fair.
Instead went with getting rid of all the deadwood quick and have money to spend and cannot spend it. If we want to spend it well, we cannot wait we need someone new in ASAP. Issue is that wont happen. I reckon if you ask most GM's would you want up to $4mil in cap space and perhaps $2mil the following year? Most if not all would say that is the dream.
Isnt JG dead? Who cares what he said.
Please tell me your kidding... can't stand DB he ain't worth $100k!!! Nope we ain't keeping that thing.
That will be one thing that gets rid of me as a fan, keeping DB we've finally been freed from this invisible no returns! He'd be lucky to make the NZ team.
Seriously who cares.
