Alternative punishment

Guys,

Instead of losing points this year and ruining our season, what do you think if the NRL reduced our salary cap by the dollar amount that they claim that we have cheated. Im sure watmough's salary if forgiven due to his pending retirement, we can cover this reduction relatively unscathed.

As an additional penalty, they could issue us with another fine and possibly further governance controls.i.e. sack those found to be compliant in these rorts.

Do you think the public and more importantly, the media will accept this punishment?

  • Very strong word is we will only lose between 6 - 10 points season will not be over if more than 10 then I think we will be in trouble..
  • When you say 'strong word' Brett, is this based on the theory of strength in numbers, ie: the hoards of people speculating same?
    • Leith is 'strong word' a notch up from 'I'm hearing', coz I gotta get the lotto numbers right?
    • Perhaps if your belief is strong enough the numbers will appear in a dream. The media seem to have faith in such tenuous self-fulfilling prophecies... Take it as gospel.
    • 'I am hearing' that perhaps you should pick numbers between 0 and 28...

Good luck in you Lotto endeavours.
  • I would agree if points are deducted for this year, finish it off there.

Any fines should not be used to reduce the cap for any subsequent year as it deems guilt is ongoing.

& the big word IF guilt is proven.

  • Haha thanks Leith.. Hope it's not cutting it too fine in the upper range though and your ear is bearing in mind the investigation could be spanning as far back as 2010. Geez it's gonna be mega if they go back to '09.
Keep your ear to the ground :)
