  Only problem though is that the law is not written around impairment - it's based on the detection of the drug in a driver's system (usually through detecting its metabolites). So from that perspective, my understanding is that it's still a DUI and it's still a second offence. We can't get away from that.

    Correct , drug driving is drug driving. No low or high reading exists in the context here . He may as well have just done a big rail on the dashboard. Everyone knows this , it's not even a discussion that has relevance to his predicament when it comes to the NRL / clubs rulings .

      He passed the alchol test and failed the drug test, is that a normal procedure, i.e. was he stopped randomly or for an offence? If he has reckless driving in there, he's fcuked.....

        He has form, his car would be flagged as a potential drug driver. Same as anyone with a history of driving pissed or unlicensed car does. I'd say it was targeted due to that. Or it was a random roadside which is unlikely as it was in Newtown ? Can't say I've ever seen a random booze bus set up on the side of the road in Newtown. Most likely scenario due to location is coppers were cruising and got a hit on his plates as a potential DUI and thought let's go pull old mate JAC over and test him for shits and giggles and struck gold.

    That's correct, fishbulb. It's zero tolerance for drugs. But my point was about the loose, moral talk of the club sacking him for drugs AND reckless or impaired driving.
