Not mad at the fact that he's leaving despite everything the club did for him, and how we stuck by him.
Rather, I'm gutted and furious that we lost two of the best up and coming players in the NRL in Sanders & Talagi because they were never going to get the spot over Brown & Moses. And now, the man that stood in their way is bailing.
Good riddance. If Ryles is truely rebuilding this club, he cannot play Brown in first grade going forward. To echo what he claimed in the post match press conference, the only way to build our juniors up is to give them game time. It's time to do that and get rid of Brown.

How can you be furious with him. Fong is right. The problem is bigger than any player we have at the club. The dum C*** in the RR fucked the eels up and have not been held accountable. Players at our club kept leaving because they saw no future due to players in front of him. But what do you know. Those plaers that were blocking them are leaving too. No wonder we cannot win a premiership because we simply cannot build a proper roster with the dopes running the club. As much as BA was a pain, he had that issue and its going to be with Ryles too.
Though EA, i agree with most of that BA did try to hold on to the wrong players for a long time. The likes of Gutho and RCG would have been extended and they would have declined. Ryles at least has been given full rein to make big calls and bring juniors along.
I mean many here were saying Talagi was not good enough to be a 6, now are saying wish we kept him hahaha. Same people argued Sanders is not a 6 but wish we had him to replace Brown.
Is it annoying? Definately but the RR have seemed to be upfront with mistakes including stopping options in contracts, lets see if they have learnt from mistakes.
But overall you said BA was a pain, he had a hand in the recruitment decisions. Not a massive hand but was involved. We have to earn the trust from the juniors again and it will take time.
I'm sure Brown didn't see the ridiculous offer from the knights coming and expected to be an eel for life.
Anyone knocking back that kind of offer is a fool, no one would.
The issue is the club giving his a dumb contract to start with
Yes and the culprit should get fired tomorrow, on ya bike O'Neil.
Yeah it seems like a bumper offer now and too good to refuse , but .... if you were as good as some would have you believe he is , you could easily back yourself to earn more then this offer over the next 10 years. In 5 years time , 1.3 for top of the comp player would be a bargain. Thats IF Brown was going to be one of the best players in the comp over the next 10 years of course.
Taking this offer is more of an admission that you don't back yourself to be one of the games best players if you ask me.
$13m guaranteed, better players have signed on for a lot less in comparison.
Do you not think he knows he isn't worth this type of money and will never get another opportunity to earn anything like it?, come on wiz.
What I'm saying is , if he really wanted to stay , and if he was really as good as some would have you believe , he could quite easily have earned close to this over a decade.
Point is , he's not willing to back himself to get any better than he is right now. As opposed to a player like Moses who was offered bigger money to join The Broncos , but backed himself to get better and earn more money , which turned out to be the better option overall.
Brown has no ambitions to improve and this is the perfect scenario for him. Earn big bucks and go to a club where he can be one of the best players without really having to make an effort.
He is going to be Newcastle's version of The Tigers Luke Brooks. Although too his credit, Brooks was always trying his arse off at The Tigers.
This is all true but I really doubt any player would have knocked back the richest deal in league history. Every former player that now commentates has been asking why he didn't sign this deal two weeks ago, they all know this is a deal you don't knock back.
The knights should be really worried right now for the fact dylan gave the eels every opportunity to raise their current deal and they stood firm and now they are getting a player on massive money that doesn't really want to go. The eels are winners in this, let's be happy about that.
