A good time to reflect on a New Year

Sometimes it is a good time to reflect on your own personal journey through life and question everything.about yourself and the life you lead. We all have regrets later in life. The more you become aware of yourself the more you can become content and have power  in shaping your destiny

          • Good article Randy and great discussion in the comments section. More is less and Less is more.

Thinking of it in terms of footy discussion.

Will anyone ever be happy following footy as a source of contentment even if they win a few premierships. Instant gratification has a short lifespan and the frustration and misery will return soon after the big gratification hit.

The energy of seeking materialistic wins takes you away from Living ones life to the fullest. Do we die with regrets for putting ones  life energy into materialistic addictions?

In the future you will have 15 friends

        • Very depressing read Randy. I still do work on Carl Jung. Depressing as well. After his experience with WW1 and WW11 and his work at a very elite level his conclusion is we are in self destruct mode and with the War technology we have we could all be gone in a few days.

I do have concerns with a lot of Astrology which sees us at the beginning of a New earth astrological cycle. The end of Patriarchy rule with a very rapid consciousness change coming soon.  Maybe with in a year. This is a big year and we are in the peak end of a significant consciousness shift. Much bigger than the 60,s. I am in two camps  Pessimism and struggling to keep some form of optimism in the background. The next 6 months or so will be telling. Leadership changes in Russia,USA, Israel and hopefully China. Interesting part of history we are living in.

          • The "15 friends" is a dystopian nightmare

re astrology, I can't buy into it. It would mean to me that we are just along for the ride and that nothing matters as destiny is fixed. It would make me nihilistic

            • That's okay mate. Some say that historicaly we have lived through a significant era a couple of thousand years ago. They recently discovered a very complex engineering construction under one of the Pyramids. Some are saying that we have had visitors from outer space visit us and that we may have another visit coming as well in the very near future.I believe the USA has a fair bit of information on unknown visitations and all kept hidden from us.  Many people follow a number of different religions. There is a spiritual side to us. Astrology has made a lot of energy type predictions which have come true.    I simply don't know what or who to believe. I think we all need an anchor of sorts as part of our soul. I don't know if you remember Drop bear. Now deceased. I had discussions with him privately for quite a while about this type of subject and he cautioned me about discussing this type of subject on this site.

I am who I am. Warts and all

              • The tragedy is when you struggle to get in touch with your spiritual side you are vulnerable to take in a collective consciousness fed in by those who have the tools and power to shape it. Jung and other Philosophers have struggled to make sense of a herd mentality if you can't develop your own . Thats probably fits into a less is best independence. Live your own life rather than through others " successes"?

                • Is the sun and moon energy real? Are the planet energy sources real?

              • TAD, I like what you said: "I am who I am. Warts and all."  Can relate to that.

                • Thanks HOE glad I am in good company mate.

            • Randy I just read the 15 friends article. That really made me even more depressed. . I told Mick a few days ago that I often look at a period in History which I would like to be a part of and came across this photo from the late 1800s just before the industrial revolution started to take hold . It's a photo of a group of Artists very dedicated to their craft.  Studying for 5 year s intensely from a master Artist. Often gathering in places like Paris discussing Art heads in the clouds supporting each other and very competitive in trying to reach great heights with in themselves. Group gatherings were a big part of their life. In most country towns every body new everybody. Big weddings, christenings, celebrations and big funerals.. Dystopia and having no communal identity. What a way to live. Thanks for the interaction. I always get something out of them.cheers mate

"Well Ryles did say, he wants Parramatta people. If you are not wanting to be here why convince you. Who knows, maybe Ryles said he could not guarentee Simonsson a spot over Russell and that's how it went. We don't know."
