"Well said Pou. I think the issue involved with Da Silva for some fans is their affinity for Smith. He is such a fan favourite anyone that is taking game time away or is adding competition is bad it seems. I really like Smith but the hate for Da…"

"TDS is still young, with plenty of improvement left in him. He could still play Flegg in 2026 ffs. And despite being two years younger than Ryley Smith, he has played nine more NRL games."

Hope so but the chase on the last day or so could be challenging with an inexperienced side
Even 150 may be difficult
he wants to convince himself that the australian team needs him.
We looked to have the first test in the bag as well.
Nothing more summer then an Australian batting collapse.
I love this misconception so many fans have that if Australia win this Test, suddenly they're back.
The fact is that the Aussies still struggle against pitches with genuine swing and seam and they still struggle with spin on the subcontinent.
They've been thoroughly outplayed across the series and one Test match shouldn't mask the fundamental issues and flaws with the team itself and with Australian cricket in general.
This pitch on late Day 4/Day 5 will not be easy to bat on. Look at the turn that Lyon is getting for example. Shamsi can get a lot more, particularly bowling to the left-handers because he'll rip it into them and look to catch them on the crease.
If the Saffas make 175-250, it's not going to be an easy chase.
But as said above, believing that winning this Test means that Australian cricket is on the up is a true misconception.
Handscomb's defense is terrible. Once he was set, the first ball he got on the stumps got him out. This team will never be great again until the batsmen ditch the Dave Warner attitude and are happy to take 8 hours to score 140 Khawaja style. It was all well and good when we had all time greats like Hayden, Ponting, the Waughs and Gilchrist but those days are long gone. Get your heads down boys.
The ball swinging around at night against the Poms next year will probably cost us a home Ashes series.
