I really hate the rule as it is. A number of times last night there were 3 in a tackle for 2 to drop off when 1 player clearly had hands on the ball and thought he was a chance of stealing it.
If a defender touches the ball it is 6 again. Defenders don't voluntarily pull out of a tackle (unless it's Bryce Cartwright or Darius Boyd), so you could assume that 1 defender clearly has hands on the ball trying to steal it so why not 6 again.
It would stop the stupid play of holding an attacking player up to then have players drop off and the ball carrier and 1 defender try to grab the ball off each other even after the tackle has hit the ground and they should be standing to play he ball. For the amount of strips that work in this way, there are 5 or more that don't and just slow down momentum of the game.
Would you prefer this rule to be scrapped or introduce 6 again for failed strip attempts.

Scrapped. Stupid rule. A rule that encourages defenders to let the ball runner go midway through a tackle is obviously against the principles of the game.
Scrap
May as well toss a coin to see who wins.
Also it is not in the spirit of a 1 on 1 strip, to have the ball 99% stripped in a three man tackle then the tackler with 99% of the ball says I got it get lost and when the other two drop off he completes it. That should not be a 1 on 1 strip. 1 on 1 strip should only apply if the strip completely happened with one tackler.
if more than 1 player is in the tackle and there is no forward momentum and the 2nd player drops off intentionally then it should be deemed a strip penalty. No player should deliberably drop off a tackle so a 1 on 1 strip can be made. The coaches are all dumb shits. Give me 1 smart coach all he is trying to do is bend the rules. Its not smart its called cheating. A smart coach has a good game plan and builds a strong squad that can play well together to a good game plan. Hence my opinion there are zero smart coaches.
Bellamy Robinson Bennett and Co rely off cheating the CAP with start studded teams playing against chumps. If they dont have the cattle then their coaching is shown the light.
Bennett couldnt do shit back at the Broncos nor at Newcastle when the money dried up.
That would be the same for Bellamy who has 1 mil more just on TPA on top of 2 cooked books and brown bags and new boats. Same applies for Robinson.
The NRL is rigged to allow shit clubs with shit support to be successful via methods I have discussed above.
Parra can be a powerhouse club if it could spend 1 million more for talent. Pretty much thats 2 top line players in your top 17. The only way to get the same pulling power is really done at the front office.
Instead of hiring fuckwits, you hire sales people who can sell to sponsors. Then the sponsors will see their names up on TV, this then brings the supporters and money back to the club. Money well spent the team is successful and people keep coming back for more and players want to play for successful clubs as they also want to win. Then you have the monopoly on how much you offer players to come to you club. These players are so fucking clueless about money and life anyway that you could basically have them happy to win rings. Players dont go play in melb or manly because its closer to the coast or city. Its about winning
Garbage rule once again being manipulated by the coaches. Fark it off
Strip rule ... worst rule in the game. Ugly ugly ugly.
Why not declare that a legitimate steal can occur 1 on 1, but the moment more than 1 defender enters into the tackle, it is a penalty to strip the ball. Done. This shit of gang tackling, where one bloke guns for the ball and the others drop off if he calls goot or bubba or whatever is their code, is just ugly shit that discourages the beauty of off loading and second phase play.
PS: it's biggest exponents are a bunch of dumb goons the Raiders imported from the vastly inferior UK comp. Enough said
I hate the rule... mainly because we SUCK at it!
I'm sure if we had players actually able to strip the ball, we'd have different opinions on the rule
