The Eels football operations incurred a deficit of somewhere between 16 and 20 million dollars over the past few years (can't be bothered to look it all up) and the current crew, from the board to the CEO, CFO and through to the coaching staff have all worked together to bring this negative expenditure down starting with this season and the seasons to come until they become profitable again or at worst, breaking even. This is why Brad Arthur is running with a skeleton crew as is other areas of our overall operations.
Then there is what appears to be no TPA's, or very little TPA's available to assist Brad Arthur in competing in the marketplace for quality players without destroying our cap management.
And there is the massive investment expenditure going on with the Leagues Club, in tandem with the construction of our new coliseum.
I also wonder if we indeed have around 1mil in cap space to gobble up the right players if and when they become available, players who will come over without TPA's or brown paper bags leading them our way.
Cost cutting has probably caused Ronnie Palmer to move on to West Tigers and so many other staff told to move on or accept far less $$$$.
Maybe it is these circumstances that has led to the winless state our club is currently in. Great clubs have a full, well paid team of skilful professionals in operation while we are currently operating on somewhere between 1/5 and 1/10 of what the Storm, Roosters, Broncos, Dogs and Cowboys are operating with.
It's not all Brad Arthur's fault - cost cutting here, there and everywhere has impacted his overall operations, particularly the full-potential of his NRL playing group that is unable to be fully realised. This is a fact and not an excuse.

This is exactly what I was told a few weeks ago, but not in that great detail. Why would you become a member if they are not supporting the football operations, the club are taking members for a ride and couldn't give a hoot about their members and the success of the team.
bernie gurr and his cronies need some explanation to the members about cost cutting, us fans want positive results by making finals each year and being competing each fuc ken game, not by becoming the dregs of the nrl. Time and time again.

Yep, a by product of our club being stuffed around since 1987, particularly after Brian Smith was forced out and the 3P shenanigans came along. All of this has impacted Brad Arthur's ability to run a full on, well paid operation of skillful professionals. The 2016 cap dramas made it all even worse. Will take years to repair all the damage done.
Then there is the greater manipulation going on to force our community based club to be privatised. The Freemasons have done this with public services made to look shit over many years, only to be privatised down-the-line. Don't be surprised that these type of cunning tactics is going on around our club. Freemasons control all sides - am addressing those who sold out to Freemasonry, those who have arisen above the looking good, benevolent Rotary and Lions Clubs, etc, facades. They and their lackeys will even be in this forum manipulating the fans head-spaces.
I dont think Ron was forced out because of funding, Wilmont would probably be on better money.

I've run mid-size business operations for around 20 years, built it up with few $$$ into a big dollar operation running staff levels of around 33. Have had hands on experience in all facets of running a business and this shapes how I look at what Brad Arthur has had to handle thus far. Why don't you have a direct chat with Bernie Gurr about all this cost cutting going on - it's a clear, incontrovertible fact, it stands out like dogs balls.
Against this horrendous commercial torrent, Brad will want playing group and culture stability and maybe it's his current head space believing what he is doing is the right thing in riding out this fucking commercial nightmare that has Tim Mannah be our our co-captain and club captain. Brad loves our club - he is very loyal and proud to be an Eel.

Snake why did they knock him back? That wouldn’t make too much sense if they were confident of coming to a club with right support staff and paying the right money etc after all we weren’t exactly useless last year and new facilities next year etc.
someone put a blog up last week stating how hard it was to find the eels footy staff online couldn’t find should ask Larissa I guess...but they managed to find storms ok ...it was unbelievably long basically had a staffer to tie shoe laces as well.
